Continue ReadingPreviously, I have listed the top 5 offensive and top 5 defensive sleeper players of the 2023 class for the upcoming fall 2022 football season. Now it is time for football fans to recognize some more prominent football talent in the San Antonio, TX area! We even have some surprises this week. These kids are going to make some huge noise this upcoming season and are looking for a new place to call home as well! Check out the 2023’ offensive sleeper players in San Antonio, six through ten, and keep your eye on these prospects!
6. Nick Varalez- 5’10 196Ibs/RB/ Clark High School
Analysis: Nick Varalez racked up 1,497 all purpose yards last season which is phenomenal!. He is very physical when running the ball while trucking over defenders with ease. This kid possesses great hands out of the back field, and you can use him as a dangerous weapon while in the slot. Mr. Varalez has good burst out of the back field with good ball carry vision. When he runs the ball, he delivers the punishment while consistently going forward on contact and he is also a good blocker. Keep your eye out for him this season!
7. Anthony Evans Anthony Evans 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Judson | 2023 State TX – 6’1 168Ibs/WR/ Judson High School
Analysis: Anthony Evans Anthony Evans 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Judson | 2023 State TX is a force to be reckoned with at the wide receiver position. He has excellent speed considering his track background which allows him to become an asset at being a deep threat to opponents. He is also a great route runner while having the footwork to be quick and fast out of cuts and breaks in his routes. Anthony Evans Anthony Evans 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Judson | 2023 State TX is also a physical stalk blocker in the run game which is crucial to the run game!. Mr. Evans also possesses good and soft hands which allows him to make difficult catches! This kid is going places next season! If any college coach is in need of a receiver, I would put this prospect number one on my list.
8. Edmarrion Contreras- 5’10 155Ibs/WR/ Cibolo Steele High School
Analysis: Edmarrion Contreras has good speed at wide receiver, a bit undersized he can still be a great weapon in the open!. He is an excellent run blocker and an excellent route runner which makes him difficult to guard whether you are in zone or man coverage. Next, he has great footwork which makes his route running even more deadly which shatters opponents in the passing game! He also has good side to side quickness while having a great pair of hands. This makes him a huge weapon in the passing game. Look for Edmarrion Contreras this season and watch him become a top prospect!
9. Jonathan Conway- 6’1 255Ibs/LT/ Johnson High School
Analysis: Jonathan Conway plays nasty and dirty in the trenches with the big boys! You may call him a pancake machine! He is very physical off of the ball and uses his long arms to keep opponents at bay or put them on their back. He possesses great technique and he is an excellent run blocker while staying low and driving his feet, which gives him the best leverage on those on the defensive side of the ball. He also has good feet for a lineman is size which allows him to be a good pass blocker as well! Look for him to have a great senior season!
10. Ethan Hart- 6’4 245Ibs/LT/ Madison High School
Analysis: Ethan Hart plays very physical at the left tackle position. He possesses good height while only being 245Ibs, but plays like he is 300Ibs solid. He is great at using his long wing span to take advantage of his opponents and drive them into the ground. He has good technique and good footwork for a lineman his size. He is extremely underrated and will be looking to put up some great numbers next season! Keep an eye out for him as well.
