NEXT UP:
Chip Allers Chip Allers 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Summit | 2023 State OR 6-3 215 LB 23’ Summit-As noted numerous times Allers tests off the charts and is the highest ranked athlete for the 2023 class yet to be offered. Don’t be surprised if that changes soon.
Devin Brooks Devin Brooks 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Clackamas | 2024 State OR 6-4 300 OL 24’ Clackamas- One of the fastest rising stocks of any lineman in the West. Watch his film and you see a kid who his mobile and delivers devastating blocks. His 1st team all-league honors as a Sophomore speak to the respect the coaches have for him in the Mt Hood.
Wiley Donnerberg Wiley Donnerberg 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2024 State OR 6-4 200 WLB/WR 24’ West Linn- I could see both the Donnerberg kids grabbing early offers, with Wiley projecting at the D1 level on both sides of the football. He earned 2nd team all-league honors at WR but I personally like him on D, where his size and versatility make him an incredibly appealing recruit.
Luke Leighton Luke Leighton 6'5" | 195 lbs | ATH Sheldon | 2023 State OR 6-5 190 WR/LB 23’ Sheldon- Leighton’s body control at 6-5 is what’s most impressive. As of right now I would consider him maybe the most underrated kid in the NW, after dominating the competition and earning 1st team all-league honors on both sides of the football.
Brysen Kachel 6-3 225 LB 24’ West Albany- Kachel was the only Sophomore in Oregon to earn all-state honors on both sides of the ball. His abilities after the catch were impressive, especially with his size. That said I like him on D where his ability to come off the edge or play the LB spot is natural.
Liam Cassidy Liam Cassidy 6'5" | 300 lbs | DL Jesuit | 2024 State OR 6-5 300 DT 24’ Jesuit- With continued progression, Cassidy has the size and demeanor to be the best D lineman to come out of Jesuit since Henry Mondeaux (Pittsburgh Steelers). His 1st team all-league honors as a Sophomore make him a viable POY candidate the next two seasons.
Jack Wagner Jack Wagner 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2023 State OR 6-4 180 QB 23’ Tualatin- With Jackson Jones Jackson Jones 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2022 State OR getting a majority of the snaps, I don’t think people realize how good Wagner is as a QB. Separate from his size and throwing ability he is a potential 1000+ yard rusher, averaging a ridiculous 12.3 yards per carry as a Junior, while rushing 50 times for 615 yards and 7 TDs.
Ryan Oliver Ryan Oliver 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Lakeridge | 2023 State OR 6-3 195 QB 23’ Lakeridge- I always come back to the fact that Oliver is a year young for the grade. Starting the last two seasons he has thrown 29 TDs/7 INTs in 16 games, while hitting on 63.7% of his passes. Ask former NFL coach and current head coach Spencer Phillips about his abilities.
Mark Hamper Mark Hamper 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2023 State OR 6-2 205 S/ATH 23’ West Linn- I would consider Hamper a favorite if we are talking Oregon POY candidates heading into next season. He is one of the only athletes in the region who projects at the D1 level on both sides of the football, finishing 2nd state wide in INTs (5) while averaging 11.4 yards per carry and 13.6 yards per catch.
Drew Rodriguez Drew Rodriguez 6'2" | 200 lbs | DB Sprague | 2023 State OR 6-2 195 ATH 23’ Sprague- Rodriguez is a D1 safety and helping his cause on the 7v7 circuit at WR, showing off his overall athleticism. He has one of the fastest rising stocks of any athlete on this list.
Kevin Cassidy Kevin Cassidy 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Mountainside | 2023 State OR 6-6 250 T 23’ Mountainside- Watch Cassidy over the next few months and what he does on the camp circuit. As referenced multiple times he is new to the O line position, but you can’t teach the size and the All-American genes. Expect next year’s film to be exceptional.
Tyler King Tyler King 6'5" | 235 lbs | DL Clackamas | 2023 State OR 6-5 235 DE 23’ Clackamas- Potential sleeper for the class. If he can do all the right things on and off the field he will be in good shape as his film speaks for itself.
