By no means is this list a sure thing, finalized or complete. It will be updated twice more before the end of August 2022. Again, these are not rankings nor are they an end-all, be-all lists. These are the prospects that we have seen, that stand out to our team.
We recently released Part 1 of the class of 2026 California prospects, labeled as quarterback prospects, that are currently on the Watch List. Today, we’ll look at Part 2.
Jackson Presley Jackson Presley 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Heritage Christian | 2026 CA | Quarterback
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound has great prototypical size for a high school quarterback. The 8th grader understands advanced concepts in the passing game and does a good job fitting the ball into tight windows. Picked up his first offer from Texas A&M in early February, then his second from Charlotte a few days later.
Devin Rasmussen Devin Rasmussen 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Edison (Stockton) | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound quarterback has a live arm as he’s able to hit his receivers in stride on both intermediate and deep routes. He’s got the ability to move the pocket which makes stopping him and his receives a nightmare for opposing offenses.
Timmy Herr Timmy Herr 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB San Juan Hills | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
Herr is fundamentally sound and does a good job leading the offense. He’s got the ability to make all the throws and does a good job keeping his eyes downfield and stepping up into the pocket when it begins to collapse around him. He’s a bigger, thicker style of quarterback and has some Tim Tebeow-like physical traits.
Oscar Rios Oscar Rios 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Downey | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
Rios, who is 6-foot-2, 145-pounds, has great strength and size for a player his age. He’s got a live arm and can make off-platform throws with ease. He does a good job anticipating his receivers’ routes and has nice touch on intermediate to long throws. Has already picked up an offer from Michigan State.
Michael Sargent Michael Sargent 5'11" | 155 lbs | QB San Marin | 2026 CA | Quarterback
The 5-foot-11, 155-pound quarterback has a consistent delivery and does a nice job anticipating where his receivers will be. He throws the ball with great touch and finesse but also has the ability to fit the ball into tight windows with velocity.
Brady Smigiel Brady Smigiel 6'4" | 175 lbs | QB Newbury Park | 2025 CA | Quarterback
Smigiel is prototypical quarterback size even as an 8th grader. Standing at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, Smigiel is one of the top quarterbacks in the state as he possesses a live arm, great knowledge of the game and is a proven winner. Already holds an offer from Arizona.
Jackson Taylor Jackson Taylor 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Thousand Oaks | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
The 6-foot-1, 160-pound already holds multiple Power 5 offers and will play at California powerhouse Oaks Christian next year. He’s got smooth mechanics, a strong arm and has the ability to keep plays alive by moving the pocket. Currently holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville and Oregon.
Dylan Thomas Dylan Thomas 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Las Lomas | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
The 6-foot, 145-pound quarterback is a dual-threat as he’s a track kid who excels in the 100 and 200 meters. He’s got a strong arm and the potential to be a difference-maker whenever the ball is in his hands.
Jesse Vega Jesse Vega 6'0" | 155 lbs | ATH Upland | 2026 State CA | Quarterback
The 6-foot, 130-pound signal-caller is another dual-threat who can beat you with both his arm and his legs. This past season he threw for 29 touchdowns while running for 13 more. He’s got the ability to extend plays and is a treat in space. Recently picked up his first offer from Georgia Southern.
