Each year, they have a bit more talent on their roster than plenty of fans recognize, and last year in particular, this level of talent helped lead the Falcons to a 9-2-1 record. In fact, the only losses in which the program sustained all season long was to the Powerhouse McEachern High, and the eventual State Championship winner, Collins Hill. Unfortunately, this loss to Collins Hill came in the playoffs, as they fell 48-6 to Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA , and his loaded team. Regardless, due to the fact that the Falcons are returning, and adding plenty of talented starters next year, we believe that they have a chance to show out against their competition, and make a run at the playoffs once more.
Qamar Grant- QB
In 2022, the Falcons will be returning one of their most important players, which happens to be their starting QB, Qamar Grant. Last year, not only did he help lead his team to a 9-2-1 record, but he also averaged above 227 yards a game in the air. In addition to this, his stats boasted a passing average of 16.2 yards a pass. If this is not impressive in itself, by the end of the year, Grant saw himself accumulate a total of 2,500 yards in the air, and 98 yards on the ground. This wielded him the results of a total of 2 rushing TD’s, and 30 passing TD’s. As Grant will be looking to return for his senior year, expect him to develop in his decision making, and vertical passing ability.
Janerious Jackson- RB
While Jackson may have played for another program last year, we have high expectations for his addition to this group next season. Jackson will be entering into his senior season, and will likely help contribute to the balanced success of the offense, and QB, Qamar Grant. Jackson has a dynamic ability to make with his legs, and see the field effectively. He has quick feet, and his size is favorable for a strong running attack. This alone will help to continue a balanced offensive force, which keeps defenses honest.
Craig Adams- WR
Not only was Adams the leading receiver for the team last year, but he will be a big time returner for the Falcons, as we expect him to be able to contribute with the same level of success. Last season, he totaled over 900 receiving yards by the end of the year, which also meant that he had an average of about 17.3 yards a catch. With this, Adams was also very dynamic with the ball in his hands, which was reflective of the fact that he led the team in receiving TD’s as well, with 11. This comes as no surprise due to the fact that he totaled more than 85 yards a game, coupled with the fact that he accumulated 54 receptions by the end of the season. When the 2022 season rolls around, expect it to be a Grant, and Adams show, lighting up the scoreboard.
Briyar Powers- WR
Briyar Powers also had his fair share of success in the air last year as he was second in the team in receiving yards. By the end of the year, he had totaled around 533 receiving yards, and 7 TD’s. These 7 TD’s were second on the team, which is big for the Falcons due to the fact that the top two receivers on the team were both Juniors. In 2022, we expect Powers to replicate this same success, with averages of over 20 yards a catch, and over 48 yards a game. If he can manage to do anything remotely close to this, we believe that Pebblebrook may be on the path of making it back to the playoffs.
