Coleman is a guy you want to get the ball too early and often. Dow loved to get him the football on-screen plays. He has the long speed to break 90 plus yard touchdown receptions. Coleman made teams pay for playing off him as he had created big plays on crossing routes underneath.
Coleman shows the ability to go up and win contested catches as well. Coleman is a long strider who tends to just glide away from defenders. Anthony Coleman is a great kick returner as well and is a guy that opposing teams really need to think twice about kicking the football to. I am really looking forward to what Coleman can do next year as a senior.
#55 Mason Nickel | OL | 2024 | Hudl
Nickel is a great athlete at the tackle position. He has a quick, fluid drop back when he gets back into his pass protection stance. Nickel has a strong, muscular build that he uses to powerfully engage opponents. Mason Nickel can pull very effectively, never shying away from contact.
He does a great job of turning his body and sealing off the edge on run plays. Nickel has the versitility to bump inside and play the gurad position as well. I think this is awesome to have offensive lineman who can play multiple positions. I like that Nickel works hard to keep good leverage so he can handle the power rush effectively.
#9 Jack Bakus Jack Bakus 6'5" | 220 lbs | QB Midland Dow | 2023 MI | QB | 2023 | Hudl
I talked a little bit about Bakus in my last article. Bakus has a very strong arm and is not scared to throw the footbal down field. He throws a good tight spiral that tends to just float right into receiver’s hands. Bakus can place the football in the right spot on back shoulder throws. He looks very comfortable in the pocket and has a calm drop back. At 6-5, it makes it a lot easier to see over his offensive lineman and he does not have to worry about passes being batted down at the line of scrimmage.
Jack Bakus Jack Bakus 6'5" | 220 lbs | QB Midland Dow | 2023 MI and Anthony Coleman will be an excting duo to watch once again next year. Returning your starting quarterback and one of your top receivers is a relief for coaching staffs and tends to be a luxury when it comes playoff time.
#54 Jason Casey | OL/DL | 2024 | Hudl
On the defensive line, Casey has very strong hands and can shed blocks quickly. Casey times up the snap well and can explode in the back field and create tackles for loss. He is a tremendous tackler who does a great job of wrapping up ball carriers legs and getting them to the ground.
Casey has an effective swim move that he used to get around defenders as well. I love that Casey is always pursuing ball carriers and has the athletism to tackle ball carriers in the open field. Casey has good leverage and almost never gets driven back. He only enters his junior season in 2022 and will be key player on the Dow defense.
