These guys as a whole stood out during the 2021 season but haven’t garnered a ton of offers just yet. Make no mistake, though; these youngsters can flat-out play. Their collegiate fits range from Power-Five to Division Three. With that being said, here’s who you need to know!
Aidan Duerig, 6’6″, 285, Crown Point
A big man with explosive hips and tremendous flexibility. Duerig dominates with pure size and sheer will. He stays hip to hip on double teams and, knows when to come off & work to the second level. He’s patient as a pass protector and does a good job passing off stunts & not lunging at defenders.
OFFERS: Southern Illinois
Ethan Trent Ethan Trent 6'2" | 280 lbs | OL Carmel | 2023 State IN , 6’2″, 275, Carmel
A tough center prospect that plays with adequate hand placement. Trent is physical at the point of attack and keeps his feet churning after initial contact. On tape, he fights to reach defenders on outside zone schemes and is a talented pass protector who re-directs with ease. He’s shown plenty of positional versatility and could add value at the next level as a swing guy.
Luke Skartvedt Luke Skartvedt 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Roncalli | 2023 State IN , 6’4″, 300, Roncalli
An absolute mauler who plays through the whistle. This young man rolls his hips on contact and punches on a rise. Luke is dominant when asked to down block and will easily wash defenders down the line of scrimmage. I love his demeanor as he looks to finish every block driving his opponent into the turf. To me, he project’s as a guard at the next level.
OFFERS: NIU
Jackson Ruess, 6’5″, 300, Crown Point
A big man who can pull to the perimeter and will bully alley defenders. Jackson stuns his opponent at the point of attack, creating a wide-open lane for his back. He moves well laterally and will reset his hands in pass protection. The change of direction you look for in a big man is there as Ruess isn’t rattled against any sort of stunt and will take a defender where he doesn’t want to go.
Alex Ashley, 6’4″, 275, Westfield
A smooth operator within the box that plays with a low pad level. Ashley shows active feet and a quick punch off the snap. He has a clean vertical set and can hold his own against bull rushers off the edge. If pass rushers don’t present themselves, Alex will look to give help to his fellow line-mates & assert his will.
Dawson Nowacki Dawson Nowacki 6'2" | 300 lbs | ATH Mishawaka | 2023 IN , 6’2″, 290, Mishawaka
A fiery interior lineman with a ton of pop behind his punch. Dawson plays straight-up violent and will bowel through down linemen. He shows strong hands and an athletic lower half. He moves extremely well and can help spring quick downhill runs. His on-field mentality is hard to find in a high school kid, and I think he could be an absolute steal for one school.
