Kam Johnson
North Cross High School
5’11’’ 195 lbs
Johnson was a dominant offensive weapon and large part of the North Cross’ success. The Raiders finished the season 10-2 and made it to the VISAA Division II State Title game before eventually losing to Atlantic Shores Christian. The sophomore Running Back accounted for 1,109 yards rushing, 7.5 yards per carry, and 20 touchdowns.
Aslin Shipe
Broad Run High School
5’8’’ 165 lbs
Shipe contributed heavily to his team’s state title run, The shifty Running Back ran for 1,079 yards, averaged 5.9 yards a carry, and 9 touchdowns. Broad Run finished 13-2 as the Region 4C Champions and made it all the way to the State Championship game before losing to Varina High School by a touchdown.
Elijah Adkins
West Point High School
Adkins accounted for a total of 992 yards this past season, 769 rushing yards and 223 of his yards were receiving. He also scored 8 touchdowns and averaged 6.5 yards per rush. Adkins break-out season played a large part of the Pointers having a successful season. West Point finished the season at 7-4 and were able to make it to the 2nd round of playoffs.
Nico Orlando
Brentsville District
5’9’’ 180 lbs
Orlando shows a combination of great vision and break away speed. He has a 2nd gear that allows him to turn the average 5-6 yard run into a a home run. His 8.7 yards per carry was proof of this as he ran for 786 yards and scored 9 touchdowns. The sophomore Running Back, was part of a young backfield duo. He and fellow sophomore Quarterback Caleb Alexander led the Tigers to a 11-3 record, a Region 3B Championship, and a strong playoff run that gave them State Championship hopes before eventually losing to Phoebus. Orlando is also a stud in the classroom, boasting a 4.0 gpa.
Clay Ash Clay Ash 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Independence | 2024 State VA
Independence High School
5’9’’ 200 lbs
Ash finished with 700+ all purpose yards and 5 touchdowns earning him a couple of post season awards. The sensational sophomore not only earned 2nd Team All District as Running Back, but was named 1st Team All District as a Punter. He played a big role in his team getting off to fast start of 6-0. The Tigers hit a snag at the end of the season, losing to the eventual State Champs, Stone Bridge, in back to back regular season and playoffs weeks, but they were able to finish the season 7-4.
