Led by their offense, the Barons were amongst the best offenses in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, scoring 413 total points on the season, an average of 37.5 points per game. Their defense wasn’t too shabby either, allowing just 187 points per game, an average of 17 points per game.
Before we look at some of their key players this past season, here’s how their season played out.
August 28: 35-7 win over Cumberland Valley
September 3: 14-0 win over Hempfield
September 10: 60-0 win over Susquehanna Township
September 17: 43-40 win over Perkiomen Valley
September 24: 24-21 win over Wilson
October 1: 35-28 loss to Warwick
October 8: 35-21 win over Solanco
October 15: 63-0 win over Conestoga Valley
October 22: 42-0 win over Elizabethtown
October 29: 42-20 win over Cocalico
November 12: 43-27 loss to Exeter
As you can see above, Manheim Central was simply dominant for most of the season, starting it off on a five-game winning streak before falling to Warwick to start October. After their loss to Warwick, the Barons got right back on track and rattled off four straight wins to head into the playoffs. In the opening round of District 3 playoffs, the Barons however would have their season come to an end as they fell to Exeter who was just beginning a rather improbable run to the state finals.
