For people that follow recruiting it is a great time of year with one class getting ready to wind down the selection process and another getting ready to take center stage. Today we are going to take a look at a few recruits that took some visits this weekend.
Brian Huff Brian Huff 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Valley View | 2024 State AR -Linebacker-Valley View-2024
The 2024 linebacker has impressed a number of schools over the past few months. At 6’4”, Huff is all over the field and in on every tackle. He is the type of linebacker that can terrorize both the run and the passing attacks with his impressive play. Huff has the soft hands to be able to drop back into coverage and pick off passes. He picked up an offer from the University of Arkansas last week and paid a visit to Fayetteville over the weekend. Huff is a linebacker to watch out for in the class of 2024.
Lane Jeffcoat Lane Jeffcoat 6'9" | 310 lbs | OL Bentonville West | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Bentonville West-2024
The Bentonville West powerhouse had a busy weekend. Jeffcoat received a scholarship offer from the North Texas Mean Green. Jeffcoat has impressive quickness, and he mixes it well with how strong he is. He has the ability to cause plenty of headaches for opposing defensive linemen. Jeffcoat does an impressive job in pass blocking and also does a good job in opening up rushing lanes. The North Texas scholarship offer will be the first of many for the Bentonville West Wolverine.
Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2023
We already knew that Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR is a playmaker at the wide receiver position for the Van Buren Pointers. Henry was extremely impressive in Orlando over the weekend hauling in several impressive receptions. Henry is another player that earned a scholarship off over the weekend. Florida Atlantic offered the Van Buren wide receiver. The offer from Florida Atlantic will not likely be the last one he receives. It has the potential to be a busy offseason for Henry.
Quincy Rhodes Jr.-Linebacker-Jacksonville-2023
Rhodes Jr. has displayed a nose for the football over the past two years and he is a player that can terrorize the opposing offense. College football coaches have taken notice of the talented linebacker/defensive end. Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Jackson State have all extended scholarship offers over the past few weeks. He is a player that has the potential to explode this offseason in terms of recruiting. It will not be long before we see him playing on Saturdays. The only question that remains is where?
Josh Shepherd Josh Shepherd 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Rogers | 2022 State AR -Running Back-Rogers-2022
Shepherd had a terrific season for the Rogers Mounties in 2021. He has great speed and can run it between the tackles or cut outside and uses his speed to run past defenders. Shepherd earned a scholarship offer from Missouri Southern and over the weekend he placed his commitment with Missouri Southern. The young man can run the ball; however, he is also a dynamic weapon in the passing game. He is going to be a player to watch out for on Saturdays in the fall of 2022.
