To help illustrate just how much talent I am going to go through and build an All Star or Dream Team of the uncommitted seniors from across the state. We will start with the offensive side of the ball. This group is going to be a high flying squad that would no doubt be abl to make a serious run at a state title if they really were assembled. Let’s check out the squad!
Quarterback
Vito Massa, 6’2″ 200 lbs- River Falls (Highlight Tape)
This is going to be a newcomer in the 2022 Rankings when the update debuts in February. Vito is an under the radar prospect who I believe has the tools to play at the next level. Vito finished the season with 1,800 passing yards and 26 TDs on the way to All- Region honors. On tape, it is clear that Massa is a gamer who can succeed in rhythm or off script. Vito’s arm strength shines out to the intermediate range where he has tape showing he can fire the ball 15-20 yards downfield on a rope through tight windows with accuracy. He switches to using his touch when he goes way downfield. That is more than enough to get the job done as the accuracy carries down the field as he drops the ball in a bucket. He also is solid in the backfield when it comes to buying himself time. He is currently under the radar as he holds one roster offer from UW- Eau Claire. He also has received some interest for his wrestling abilities. You don’t see many QBs that go that route during the winter. A unique prospect that needs more looks.
Running Backs
Gus Theisen Gus Theisen 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Eau Claire Regis | 2022 State WI , 5’10″ 200 lbs- Regis (Hudl Highlights)
A three down option who is just as dangerous on the ground as he is downfield on wheel routes out of the backfield. Theisen has 4.5 speed allowing him to pull away in the open field and erase pursuit angles. Gus also possesses a jump cut that leaves defenders grasping at air when they thought they had him in their sights. Theisen sees the field so well also allowing him to set up blocks, see running lanes, and set up defenders so he can cut or juke based on their leverage. I’ve seen one offer from MSU- Moorhead for Theisen along with other interest and visits. Definitely an under the radar who I would without a doubt want on this Super Team.
Jack Genzmer Jack Genzmer 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB Ozaukee | 2022 State WI , 5’11″ 215 lbs- Ozaukee (Highlights Page)
Jack is going to be the tone setter of this team and bring the power. He should be doing that for a college team next season also. The big back runs behind his pads well and has a very low center of gravity. So low that there are plays in his highlights where defenders bounce off him and he barely reacts as he continues on his path to the endzone. Contact balance and yards after contact are the name of the game here. Genzmer is all about the physicality, but when he does find the edge or daylight he has enough speed to create big plays. Don’t miss out!
Wide Receivers
Carson Sippel Carson Sippel 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Kaukauna | 2022 State WI , 6’ 180 lbs- Kaukauna (Senior Highlights)
There isn’t much to say here that I haven’t been preaching all season and offseason. Carson has the necessary size to thrive inside or out at the next level. He has elite athletic traits like 4.44 speed, 39.5″ vertical, and 10’8″ broad jump. Those are elite numbers that show up on the football field. Carson is a playmaker who can turn every touch into a huge play. Whether its at the line of scrimmage or 30 yards downfield, get the ball i nhis hands and exciting things happen. Sippel dominates after the catch where defenses just don’t have the speed to contain him. Add in that he is a strong route runner and you get a strong, complete package.
AJ Nichols AJ Nichols 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Wauwatosa East | 2022 State WI , 5’11’’ 180 lbs- Wauwatosa East (AJ’s Senior Highlights)
Get this kid on your team, and then get the ball in his hands. The 5’11″ 180 lbs athlete is electric with the ball. Running, receiving, or returning kicks/punts. He has proven to be a playmaker in every facet that he has been used. AJ’s acceleration jumps off the tape as he goes from standstill to top speed in a matter of steps and leaves defenders in his wake. He also has the long speed to create big plays when he gets into the open field. You will be hard pressed to find a more dangerous athlete in both tight quarters and the open field. Lastly, Nichols is a sudden route runner who allows his acceleration out of his breaks to create a ton of separation. Easily one of the top WRs/ATHs still available.
Tight End
Daniel Zdroik Daniel Zdroik 6'7" | 265 lbs | TE Stevens Point | 2022 State WI , 6’8″ 255 lbs- Stevens Point (Daniel’s Senior Highlights)
The big man is going to be a steal! There is a lot of potential and even position versatility if he wanted. Daniel is a powerful run blocker who quickly, and easily, overpowers linemen. He quickly gets hands inside and gets himself in position so that he is between the defender and the ball. He also easily gets to blocks on the edge and in the open field. That all gives me the thought that he could transition into a very good OL prospect. As a pass catcher, Zdroik uses his size to create an unfair, nightmare mismatch. He high points the ball, and has soft hands. i haven’t see many offers reported. You can’t miss out on this kid. There are traits to develop and work with!
Offensive Line
Nathan Skebba Nathan Skebba 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Grafton | 2022 State WI , 6’5″ 270 lbs- Grafton
The big man out of Grafton High School is one of the best OL available. He wrapped up his senior year with First Team All- Conference, Conference Lineman of the Year, and All- Region honors. The senior has seen his interest increase this season highlighted by a visit to Indiana in November. Don’t miss out on the decorated senior. We have been big fans of him here at Prep Redzone WI.
Luca Kowalik Luca Kowalik 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Milwaukee Marquette | 2022 State WI , 6’4″ 280 lbs- Milwaukee Marquette (Luca’s Senior Highlights)
Luca has long been one of my favorite linemen in WI. The big man blows me away with his body control and ability to move beyond the norm of his tackle position. Marquette would utilize him on pulls and he thrived as he was able to get down the line quickly and hit his target square allowing him to create a ton of push. Kowalik doesn’t need to catch defenders off guard to move them though. He has exceptional, next level strength that allows him to drive linemen off the ball and open huge lanes for his ball carriers. The nasty mentality is there too as he buries defendrs into the ground as often as he can. He is an impressive prospect who has had an active recruitment. He has offers from Bemidji State, Upper Iowa, Winona State, Valparaiso, and several others.
Daniel Taraboi Daniel Taraboi 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Cedarburg | 2022 State WI , 6’7″ 295 lbs- Cedarburg (Daniel’s Senior Highlights)
Daniel has been on a hot streak as far as recruiting goes! He has received PWOs from Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Marshall, and a scholarship offer from Valparaiso and San Diego since December 13. They join many D2 offers. It’s clear to see why he has been so hot! The massive man has the power to match that you only find among the top OL prospects. At the next level, I believe Daniel fits best at guard where he can use that size and strength to stuff big, strong interior defensive linemen. Taraboi has been a big riser and will debut high in the rankings.
Trevor Gray Trevor Gray 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Greenfield | 2022 State WI , 6’5″ 290 lbs- Greenfield (Trevor’s Senior Highlights)
Another steal, and another massive prospect in the trenches. Trevor holds offers from Concordia- St. Paul and Northern Michigan. I would expect that lsit to be longer for a kid with his talents. His blend of size, strength, and athleticism is not easy to find. Gray can walk DL off the ball, double team up to level two and easily slip off to pick up LBs, and has the quickness to be able to get to the outside shoulder of contain defenders springing the offense for big gains. Trevor also has that nasty finish to his game that you love to see. In pass pro, Trevor does a good job of keeping his hands inside, and remaining patient instead of reaching. He has proven to be light on his feet and can smoothly slide as he mirrors pass rushers. Definitely a steal!
Clayton Fliss Clayton Fliss 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Oconomowoc | 2022 State WI , 6’6″ 255 lbs- Oconomowoc (Clayton’s Highlights)
Clayton has been receiving love and offers from almost every level. From D3 up to the FCS level. Many are after the long, lean lineman’s services. One reason might be because of the versatility. Clayton has played OT, OG, and OC over the past two seasons. At center, Clayton is quick out of his stance, flashes fast hands, and gets himself in position to have the leverage advantage. From there, Fliss uses a wide, strong base to drive linemen into the second level as he resets the line of scrimmage. Definitely a name to know!
