The players listed are those who on a consistent basis broke down defensive backs, made contested catches look easy, and who were reliable targets for their quarterbacks. The players below all put up good numbers statistically, but more importantly helped put their teams in position to succeed and competed all game long!
Louis Williams Louis Williams 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Conroe | 2023 State TX – Conroe
Williams portrayed the excellent ability of run after catch. He showed great elusiveness after the catch and in space, and showed very good speed and twitch to get by defenders. Williams was able to line up on the outside or in the slot and beat a coverage fairly easily. He shows great awareness of his surroundings, and making himself open for his quarterback. Williams finished his junior season with 1,367 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns on 70 catches.
Seth Salverino – Cinco Ranch
Salverino was a big weapon for his team not only offensively, but on special teams as well. Salverino has soon very good strength in his overall game. He has strong hands, is tough and can break press, and is very difficult to bring down. Salverino has shown very good top end speed as well to get behind a secondary and house kickoffs. Salverino is a very good talent who can jump up in some rankings with his play. He finished his season with 1,034 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 47 receptions.
Cameron Thomas – New Caney
Thomas has great size to him and with it he creates separation off the ball. He has a good frame and catch radius that he uses to beat out defenders on contested catches. Thomas has good speed and on short catches, can use his long strides to out run every body. He shows excellent concentration and adjustments on throws which causes him to standout. Thomas is very talented and will be a household name soon enough. For his junior season he racked up 901 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 53 catches.
Justin Herman – Montgomery
Herman is a route technician with great footwork. Out of the slot, Herman can break a defender down and can embarrass them. He is deadly in open space and his elusiveness springs open big gains. Herman can also climb the ladder on contested catches and make a big catch. He is such a skilled player who just needs the ball in his hands. On the season, Herman had 952 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns on 68 receptions.
Jarred Sample – Cy Ranch
Sample is a big play receiver who is a threat to score every time he breaks out of the huddle. The speed and quickness to run by defenders and the concentration to haul in the long throws were impressive because he did it on a consistent basis. Sample showed very good hands and if it wasn’t the deep ball, he could make a momentum shifting play with his skill in the open field. Sample is a player who has developed nicely over the last seasons so expected him to come out even better for his senior year. For his junior season. Sample had 25 receptions for 854 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Jaquaize Pettaway Jaquaize Pettaway 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Langham Creek | 2023 State TX – Langham Creek
Pettaway is a top talent in the state and with his play you can see why. Good things happen with the ball in his hands. He is explosive and a game changer, and in the open field is one of the best when is comes to running after the catch. Pettaway is fluid in his movements and routes, and is a tough cover for any defense. Pettaway finished the season with 43 catches for 745 yards and 7 touchdowns, and had some great returns on special teams as well.
