Tommy Kratt – The Woodlands
Kratt showed great football instinct and played with anticipation. He showed very good play recognition and reacted fast. Kratt was a sideline to sideline player who shuffled his feet and made the correct gap reads. He took on blocks with a half body which made it easy for his to shed and make a play on the ball carrier. Kratt played very well his junior season and displayed great discipline and made plays when the team needed it the most.
Isaac Buoye – George Bush
Buoye shows much promise in his play. As an edge defender, he uses his length and leverage to get by tackles. Buoye is quick off the snap and shows to be comfortable in space when needed. Buoye can put a hand in the ground and play as an end as well. With his athletic ability and skill, Buoye has the potential to be something serious his senior season.
Daniel Moore – Klein
Moore has a motor on him. He is a quick and physical backer who does not shy away from sticking his nose into a mess and put a lick on the ball carrier. Moore tends to beat the running backs to the gap and delivers the blow before momentum is started. He is decisive on his moves and shows little false steps. Moore shows good speed and can cover in space comfortably. His physicality definitely makes him stand out.
Cody Pham – Kempner
Pham is a hybrid linebacker who has a good frame and athletic ability. Pham can play in space and cover or rush off the edge and make plays in the backfield. He is a secure tackler who shows toughness and very good effort. Pham also shows very good lateral speed, making sure nothing gets outside leverage on him. He may surprise people next season with his play so keep an eye out for him.
Jayven Jackson – Cy Springs
Jackson is an impressive linebacker with his quickness to the ball and tackling ability. He makes big plays trusting his instincts and just going. Jackson has the quickness to shoot gaps untouched and is a sure tackler when a player is in his sights. Jackson can hug the line of scrimmage or play in space, it does not matter to him because the play will be made. Expect him to hit the ground running heading into next season. He has the ability and talent to be a top backer in the area as well as state.
