They are used to being great but this year did not start amazing when they lost to North Platte and a close game against Bennington. Aurora showed how good they are by turning the tide and winning the rest of their regular season. They went into the playoffs and took care of Lexington and Scottsbluff. They snuck passed Skutt winning 21-17. The Huskies made it to state but even though they lost they played hard and put in the work to get there.

Offensive Standouts
QB Drew Knust Drew Knust 5'9" | 160 lbs | QB Aurora | 2023 State NE 5’9 160lbs
Class of 2023 Uncommitted
96/155 1090 yards 11.4yd per throw 14 TD 5int
Drew was very consistent this year especially with the long throws. His average of 11.4 yards per throw is amazing especially with the first losses. He also has a great completion percentage with it being at 62%. He makes intelligent passes and knows where he needs to go.
RB Carlos Collazo Carlos Collazo 5'9" | 200 lbs | RB Aurora | 2023 State NE 5’9 200lbs
Class of 2023 Uncommitted
159 car 1,238 yards 7.8yds per carry 15 REC 20 TD 173 yards 5 TDs
Carlos was outstanding and one of the best players in the state His 7.8 yards per carry was absolutely nuts and it’s great we are going to get one more year of him. With 1,411 yards this year and 25 total touchdowns solidifying a legendary season. He could not be stopped and lead Aroura back.
WR Carson Staehr 5’11 150lbs
Class of 2023 Uncommitted
35 rec 502 yards 14.3 average 4 TD
Carson is another staple of The Huskies offense, he lead the team in receiving yards and touchdowns being paired up with Drew really made them both come out and show off each other skills.
Defensive Standouts
DB Britton Kemling Britton Kemling 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Aurora | 2023 State NE 5’11 175
Class of 2023 Uncommitted
66 total tackles
Britton had one of the best stats for anyone on the Huskies defense. His 66 tackles showed how he can fill holes in the line and tackle short route receivers.
LB Brekyn Papineau Brekyn Papineau 5'9" | 210 lbs | LB Aurora | 2022 State NE 5’9 210lbs
Class of 2023 Uncommitted
45 total tackles 5 TFL
Brekyn had an amazing year out of this 54 tackles 5 were behind the line. His speed to the ball is what I think was most impressive. Any Linebacker who can get that many tackles especially behind the line is also legendary.
LB Mack Owens Mack Owens 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Aurora | 2022 State NE 6’2 200lbs
Class of 2022 South Dakota
23 total tackles 2 sacks
Mack even though is primarily a running back I think he has done something good with his sacks and tackles even though it wasn’t much it she still committed to the role of linebacker.
DE Bryce Barger 5’10 186lbs
Class of 2022 Uncommitted
43 total tackles 6 TFL 1 sack 1 int
Bryce was impressive a jack of all trades on the defense with the amount of tackles his tackles behind the line and an interception. For a D end to not only have that many tackles and to have an interception. He is another one i look forward to seeing out there next year.
