Milton, being one of the deepest, and most talented teams in the state, is undoubtedly one of the most fun teams to dive into prospect wise. Their senior class holds multiple players that are projected, or committed to a power 5 program. With this being said, even despite their loss to Collins Hill in the state championship, their program will most definitely be destined for greatness in the future due to the high level of play they possess. Below, take a look at some of their top seniors who are graduating, and will become an integral part of college football in the coming years.
Jack Nickel
Jack
Nickel
6'4" | 230 lbs | TE
Milton | 2022
State
GA
: TE- Michigan State
Nickel, who is one of the top 3 star prospects in the entire country, was a consistent piece to Milton’s offense the past few years. Because of this, as well as his production before and after the catch, we are not shocked that he has found himself an opportunity to play football for the Michigan State Spartans. Nickel is a solid prospect when it comes to blocking as well, as his physicality sets him apart. Moving into the coming years, he has the opportunity to become a key part of MSU’s offense, as they will look to compete with some of the top teams in their conference, including that of Michigan and Ohio State.
Jordan McDonald Jordan McDonald 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Milton | 2022 State GA : RB- UCF
Not only has McDonald proven to be one of the more productive high school running backs in the state of Georgia, but he also holds the ability, and skillset that would translate well into the college level. Lucky enough for McDonald, he will be transitioning into the UCF program that needs good replacements at plenty of skilled positions, as well as the necessity of bolstering talent on the offensive side of the ball. In the coming seasons, McDonald can step into a role in which he can slowly make an impact with his speed, and shifty ability with the ball in his hands. With this being said, he can easily become a key playmaker for the Knights, and only time will tell if this is true.
Devin Farrell Devin Farrell 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Milton | 2022 State GA : QB- Virginia Tech
Farrell performed very well for Milton this season and has found himself in place to be suiting up for the Virginia Tech Hokies next season. Due to the fact that the Hokies are in the ACC, and have proven to struggle at finding a consistent piece at the QB position within the past few years, if Farrell continues to compete to the best of his ability, he may see himself have an opportunity of seeing the field in some capacity within the next few years. Not only does he seem to see the field very well, but we have been impressed with his arm talent, and ability to hit receivers in stride. If he can continue to develop in the way he processes the game, he may be closer to playing at the next level than we may think he is.
Maurice Clipper: OL- Tennessee
Clipper has not only been a big part of Milton’s offensive line the past few seasons, but he will continue to be a key piece for any line that he is a part of moving forward. Due to the way he moves his feet, and the tenacity that he plays with, we certainly feel he is very well equipped to be playing in the SEC for the Tennessee Volunteers. Not only does he adjust well to the pass rush, but he also used his length, and hands to his ability to renavigate defenders. Moving forward, it will be fun to see how he translates at the next level, as we certainly think he will do well when given the chance.
Brandon Best Brandon Best 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Milton | 2022 State GA : OL- Georgia Tech
What is even more impressive about this senior class and their commits at the power 5 level, is the fact that two of these commits are on the offensive line. Best, who is an interior offensive linemen, has been a key to the offense’s success in both the running game, and the passing game. Due to his consistent play, as well as his huge 6’4, 300 pound frame, we certainly feel he could make an immediate impact once the coaching staff at Georgia Tech plans to plug him into their line. With Tech’s starting RB transferring to Alabama, the door is left open for additional players to shine, and Best can help pave the way for these skilled players as they continue to make a name for themselves in the coming years.
