RB Demar Haynes Demar Haynes 5'9" | 145 lbs | RB Pineville | 2022 TX | 5’8 160lbs | 2022 | Pineville (LA)
Demar Haynes Demar Haynes 5'9" | 145 lbs | RB Pineville | 2022 TX pulled up to Houston from Pineville, Louisiana to compete in the showcase and had a successful afternoon. Haynes had a productive 1 on 1 period. Haynes outperformed his athletic testing and had a great burst all day long. Haynes is fluid with the ball in his hand who is also shifty and will make you miss. His 4.3 pro agility times translates to his movement. Haynes is a balanced back with soft hands and is a senior still waiting for his chance to contribute to a college program.
RB Rashon Estes Rashon Estes 5'6" | 165 lbs | RB Jersey Village | 2023 State TX | 5’6 175lbs | 2023 | Jersey Village
One of the top backs in the city came out to show coaches and scouts just why he has earned that recognition. After testing well with a 7.3 L drill and a 4.37 pro agility he put it all together. Estes has a strong lower body that he generates a lot of power and quickness from. He has a nice hop step and can get from 0 to 60 quickly. Estes did a nice job of making guys miss and did all the little things right like putting the ball in his outside hand and not false stepping coming out the backfield. Even though he doesn’t have notable size, he plays with a lot of power and burst. In 2021 he posted over 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground. School’s maybe sleeping on Estes for now, but I cant imagine that remaining the case for much longer.
WR DeBraun Hampton DeBraun Hampton 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Willis | 2024 State TX | 5’8 150lbs | 2024 | Lake Creek
From individual drills to 1 on 1’s, DeBraun Hampton DeBraun Hampton 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Willis | 2024 State TX flashed. Hampton is a creative route runner and I had the chance to work with him directly in 1 on 1’s. Hampton has a great understanding of how to use leverage and head fakes on his routes. He has some crafty footwork that allows him to create a nice window for the QB. Not only can he create separation, but he can haul in passes regardless of where the ball is. Hampton had some strong catches and did a great job of tracking the deep ball. Hampton has a lot of tools in his bag and as he physically developed he will become more explosive and faster. After a productive sophomore season on varsity Hampton needs to be on coaches 2024 radar.
LB Kaleb Blanton Kaleb Blanton 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Manvel | 2024 State TX | 6’2 210lbs | 2024 | Manvel
Kaleb Blanton Kaleb Blanton 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Manvel | 2024 State TX had an exceptional camp and wowed coaches and scouts with his athletic testing. Posting a 4.2 pro agility, a 7.1 L drill, and a 9’11 broad jump. Blanton is extremely explosive that directly translates to his performance on the field. During the individual and competition periods, Blanton looked athletic and had some flash plays. He has a strong lower body, plays low, and was flying around. The young man has a great foundation to build off of and currently doesn’t hold any offers.
WR Kendrayus Edwards Kendrayus Edwards 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Willis | 2024 State TX | 5’10 167lbs | 2024 | Lake Creek
Another sleeper with no offers is Kendrayus Edwards Kendrayus Edwards 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Willis | 2024 State TX . Coming out of the testing period, coaches and scouts were not disappointed in Edwards’ play. After he posted a 4.7 40 and a 10 foot broad, he went out and showed his explosiveness on the field. Edwards is nice at the line and it was hard for DBs to get a hand on him. Edwards does a great job of getting open by making quick cuts and not wasting movement. With good hands and ideal size, Edwards is on the come up and should get more attention heading into his junior season.
LB Cleveland Walker III | 5’8 200 | 2025 | Cy Falls
One of the younger guys at the showcase was freshman linebacker, Cleveland Walker III. In between the white lines, Walker showed a lot of promise. In the open field, we saw Walker breaking down and closing out on the ball carriers generating “stops”. The freshman run-stuffing linebacker has solid technique to work with and will continue to evolve as he gets older, making him a 2025 prospect to keep your eyes on.
