Continue ReadingBrookwood is not only one of the most fun teams to watch in the entire state, but they have cultivated talent just as well, if not better, than some of the top tier programs in the entire state. While they have only been a few steps away from a championship within the past few years, we also want to take some time to recognize some of the talent that has helped get them to this point. Below, feel free to take some time to look at some of their top talent that will be entering the next level, and making an impact for their college programs in the coming years.
Marquis Groves-Killebrew Marquis Groves-Killebrew 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Brookwood | 2022 State GA : CB- Texas A&M
Groves-Killebrew is easily one of the most talented DB’s in the country, and it is exciting to see that Texas A&M was able to flip his commitment from Georgia, and add on to their strong defense. Not only is this very necessary as they will look to compete with some of the top SEC teams in the country, but Groves-Killebrew will have an opportunity to have a huge impact for his team within the next two years. Likely, he will become a starter for his team, and will be able to compete within the SEC West division, standing up against some of the top receivers in the nation, further solidifying that he has the ability to pave a way to the NFL. Groves-Killebrew’s talent will also be molded, and cultivated well for the Aggies, creating opportunities for him to grow and develop in his ability to play in both man, and zone coverage effectively. With this being said, look for him to become a stud for his team in the coming years, only proving that the Aggies got a huge steal on signing day of 2021.
De’Nylon Morrissette De’Nylon Morrissette 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA : WR- Georgia
Not only did most fans think that Morrissette would get to play with his high school teammate Groves-Killebrew at the next level, but many fans believed for the longest time that these two would dominate for the Bulldogs at the next level. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as Morrissette remains the only one on Brookwood’s senior roster who is committed to UGA. Not only do we believe he will succeed at the next level, but we feel that he will have a good shot at competing with some of the top prospects that they have signed over the past few years, thus rewarding himself with a chance for some time on the field. Currently, he measures in at 6’0, 197, but he has the speed, agility, and ability to run routes and separate that you look for in the next level. Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if he can award himself a chance to see time on the field, or if he will find his way out of UGA, and into another top program in the coming years.
Samuel Mbake: WR- Arkansas
We fully believe that Arkansas, a second tier SEC team in fans eyes, is a good fit for Mbake. His big frame, length, and ability to attack the ball is what we feel will translate best to the SEC, especially for a team that is constantly in need of playmakers on both sides of the football. Mbake not only makes plays after the catch, but he is also good at attacking the football with his strong hands, and making contested catches from various angles when needed. Not only will this be necessary for the Razorbacks, but it will be key to him winning any battles he may engage in against top tier DB’s in the SEC.
