Alot of good players get overlooked when schools go through evaluations. Either they dont play for a prestigious school or maybe size is an issue, but one thing that alot of evaluators don’t seem to understand is that you can’t measure someone’s will and how much they want it. Each of these players has showed me that they has what it takes to play at the next level, they just need the opportunity. Let’s take a look at 7 more seniors that based on statistics and film need more looks for their opportunity.
Jaylen Jenkins Jaylen Jenkins 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Allen | 2022 State TX RB 5’8″ 175lbs Allen HS
Jenkins is an explosive runner with the ball in his hands going over 100 yards in 9 of 12 games this season. After putting up just over 1500 rushing yards with 22 touchdowns, I’m honestly surprised that he doesnt have BIG TIME offers coming his way. Jaylen’s game breaking speed makes him dangerous at about any postion you put him at. Runningback, Kick Return , I think with his hands and quickness Jenkins could even play some slot. Runs with good balance and forces missed tackles at a high rate. Jaylen Jenkins Jaylen Jenkins 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Allen | 2022 State TX is a prospect you dont want to miss out on.
Kyle “Boogie” Thompson DT/DE 6’3″ 240lbs Aledo HS
Boogie Thompson is an absolute terror to offensive linemen, pushing them back on his way to the ball carrier. 14 tackles for loss to go along with 3 sacks and 20 quaterback hurries means he is a HUGE disruption in the backfield. Most of that coming from the defensive tackle postion where he primarily lines up which makes it even more impressive. A 2x state champion with Aledo, you can tell on tape Thompson has been coached up well. Whoever finds Boogie is going to be happy with his results.
Tristen Huff OLB 6’2″ 185lbs Farmersville HS
Tristen Huff is quick off the line and finds the football in a hurry, racking up an impressive 21 tackles for loss. Huff have good closing speed and is a problem for offensive tackles. Plays defensive end for Farmersville but would be more of a outside linebacker at the next level. Tristen Huff really does show good pass rushing capabilities, 3 sacks doesnt tell the tale. Also showing he can cause turnovers with 3 forced fumbles.
Gavin Roark LB 6’ 215lbs Byron Nelson
Gavin Roark is a field general for his defense, doing his job at a high production with 88 tackles. 12 tackles for loss and 2 sacks is what you want to see from the inside linebacker position.
Elijah Potts WR/CB 5’11″ 170lbs Brock HS
Elijah Potts knows how to get open,77 receptions for 1205 yards and 21 touchdowns makes that very clear. Not just a route runner, Potts can simply outrun defenders with ease after the catch. Also showing he can play defense with 2 interceptions and 10 pass deflections from the cornerback position.
Quinton Clay CB/S 6’1″ 175lbs Frisco Herritage
Quinton Clay is a versatile defensive back for his defense. Playing from the corner position in deep cover 2 zone that makes him a safety post snap. A very unique role that Clay seems to have down, racking up 4 interceptions and 5 pass deflections. 30 total tackles, 27 solo tackles makes him a sure tackler. A unique player that I would like to see play at the next level.
