1. Johntay Cook II Johntay Cook II 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR DeSoto | 2023 State TX – DeSoto High School (DeSoto, TX)
2021 Season: 38 receptions, 806 receiving yards, 19 receiving touchdowns
Cook has already turned a lot of heads as he has received offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M. Cook is an athlete that is in the endzone often. He has incredible speed and can run a deep route in seconds. Not only that, but he is also physical and is capable of making a catch and breaking a tackle at the same time. Cook is also showing that he is indeed an elite receiver with a bright future ahead.
2. Ashton Cozart Ashton Cozart 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Flower Mount Marcus | 2023 State TX – Marcus High School (Flower Mound, TX)
2021 Season: 36 receptions, 680 receiving yards, 11 receiving touchdowns
Much like Cook, Cozart has also received some big offers already. Those offers include Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, and Colorado. In his tape, Cozart displays his route-running skills and his catching ability. He has excellent hands to catch difficult passes. He also has the agility to juke defenders for a big play. Overall, Cozart is in that same elite status already and will have a lot of eyes on him during his senior season.
3. Cordale Russell Cordale Russell 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR North Mesquite | 2023 State TX – North Mesquite High School (Mesquite, TX)
Russell also has displayed his route-running ability in his tape, but also his agility. He is shown to juke around multiple defenders in one play with speed. He committed to TCU on Nov. 29 but also received offers from SMU, Arkansas, Illinois State, and Kansas. Russell has so much promise going into his senior season and will have an opportunity to continue to show Horned Frog fans what they will be getting. However, Russell has already shown TCU has acquired a lethal receiver.
4. Montrel Hatten Montrel Hatten 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Carthage | 2023 State TX – Carthage High School (Carthage, TX)
Hatten is a receiver that is known for making some tough catches in coverage. Sometimes, this is even in double-coverage. He has excellent footwork and hands that he can make catches in the corner of the endzone, or right on the sideline. He also displays that he can run tight routes and outmaneuver the defender covering him. Hatten has so much potential going into his senior season, and many colleges think so as well. He has received offers from the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Houston, and Kansas.
5. Montrell Wade Montrell Wade 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Tyler | 2023 State TX – Tyler High School (Tyler, TX)
Wade can make big plays happen whether it is a deep route or a screen. In both plays, he showed off he is capable of juking out defenders and running downfield at excellent speed. Wade is another receiver with great potential, especially with his ability to turn short passes into huge gains or even touchdowns. Wade is a go-to receiver in almost any situation and a big playmaker. He has received multiple offers so far including from Arkansas State, Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas, and Oklahoma State. His senior season should be an exciting one.
