The names at the top of the list are the best-known, including a pair of Hammond School teammates. University of Michigan signee CJ Stokes CJ Stokes 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Hammond School | 2022 State SC (pictured) is the 8th-ranked player in the 2022 class, eclipsed 1,000 yards on the ground for the third straight season as the Skyhawks claimed another state championship. Teammate Cam Scott Cam Scott 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Hammond School | 2022 State SC is the 25th-ranked player in the class, and made highlight-reel catches look routine. Scott excelled at running crisp routes, and showed his physical side with excellent downfield blocking.
Reggion Bennett Reggion Bennett 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Trinity Collegiate School | 2022 State SC helped lead Trinity Collegiate to a berth in the SCISA 3A state title game, and was a threat to score every time he touched the ball. Bennett had 34 touchdowns in his senior year, with those scores coming from all over the field. He rushed for more than 2,500 yards and 29 scores, had 14 receptions for 259 yards and three touchdowns, and racked up 52 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and a pick-six on defense.
Andrew Jackson Academy’s Jonathan Schaffer Jonathan Schaffer 6'2" | 220 lbs | RB Andrew Jackson Academy | 2022 State SC was a wrecking ball, rushing for more than 1,500 yards and making more than 100 tackles, with 22 tackles for loss and more than 20 combined sacks and QB pressures.
Rondarius Porter Rondarius Porter 6'2" | 260 lbs | DL Heathwood Hall | 2022 State SC , the 52nd-ranked player in the class, was a defensive force for Heathwood Hall. He notched 90 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in an outstanding senior season. Porter repeated as both Region and SCISA State defensive player of the year.
Outside the top 50, though, is where the SCISA seniors served notice in the rankings. Garrison Owens Garrison Owens 6'7" | 315 lbs | OL Jefferson Davis Academy | 2022 State SC might not be the biggest star on the list – but then again, he might be the BIGGEST. The Jefferson Davis Academy offensive lineman has a next-level body, at 6-7 and 315 pounds, and helped lead an offensive line that paved the way for more than 2,000 rushing yards for the raiders.
Trevor James Weldon Trevor James Weldon 5'9" | 175 lbs | K Hilton Head Prep | 2022 State SC leapt into the rankings by being ridiculously efficient. The Hilton Head Prep kicker and punter was a standout for the Dolphins. He was a perfect 21-for-21 on extra points, and knocked in 10 of 14 field goals including a 50-yarder. He put 34 of 43 kickoffs in the endzone for touchbacks, and killed 12 of his 31 punts inside opponents’ 20-yard line, with a long of 62 yards.
Florence Christian’s Ethan Kelly Ethan Kelly 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Florence Christian | 2022 State SC rushed for more than 1,500 yards and scored 19 touchdowns on the ground for the Eagles, earning the No. 151 ranking in the 2022 class.
A trio of Trinity Collegiate players rounded out the 11 SCISA players in the rankings, as DB Tre McLeod Tre McLeod 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Trinity Collegiate | 2022 State SC and DLs Grant Epps Grant Epps 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL Trinity Collegiate | 2022 State SC and Daishone Small Daishone Small 6'3" | 320 lbs | DL Trinity Collegiate | 2022 State SC all claimed spots on the list. The three led a defense that helped the Titans to a region title and a state runner-up finish.
