Regardless, we at PrepRedzone love to highlight some of our favorite underrated players, and performances. Below, you will see a few prospects who will be worth your time to research, as we firmly believe that they will continue to step up in the playoffs for their team’s moving forward.
Ja’quavious Lattimore (DB)- Swainsboro
Lattimore pulled off one of the most clutch moments of the entire Georgia High School football season, as he not only stepped up for his team when they needed it the most, but he blocked a field goal in overtime. This contributed to his team’s 12-8 win over Northeast, further pushing them into the next round of the playoffs.
Ashton Daniels Ashton Daniels 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Buford | 2022 State GA (QB)- Buford
Daniels, who has had an underrated season as a whole, furthered his team into the next round of the playoffs, as he put on a great performance last week. This past Friday, he passed the ball for 174 yards, and one TD. In addition to this, due to his dual-threat ability, he kept the defense off-balance, as he ran for a TD as well, only showing that his versatility is difficult for opposing defenses to account for. As the playoffs progress, Daniels is certainly worth keeping an eye on, as he is certainly capable of leading his team to a state championship win.
Easton Burgess (LB)- Grayson
In Grayson’s win over Roswell, the defense dominated even more than the score board may reveal. In the game last Friday, the defense as a whole totaled 8 sacks in their 24-14 win. Burgess specifically had a great game, as he not only had one of the team’s sacks, but he also forced a fumble, causing a crucial turnover, and further adding momentum to Grayson’s whole team.
Jordan McDonald Jordan McDonald 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Milton | 2022 State GA (RB)- Milton
McDonald, who has managed to have a successful track record this season, and in the playoffs, continued to ball out last week. In last Friday’s win over Mill Creek, not only did he lead his team on the ground, but his efforts put his team in place to score 36 points, which was enough to come out on top 36-27, in a close win. Statistically, McDonald put up good numbers as he rushed the ball 21 times for 201 yards.
Abe Stowe (QB)- Wilcox County
Not only did Stowe help lead Wilcox County to another playoff win as they hurdled Manchester, but he has put them in place to make a run at a state championship appearance. Last week, not only did he throw for 2 TD’s, but he also kept the defense off balance all day. Stowe, who has had a decent season as a whole, will begin to be looked at even more going forward into the playoffs, as high school football fans are wondering if he can continue to answer the call, and be consistent for his team.
Jaiden Credle (RB)- Carver-Columbus
Credle, who is often times overlooked due to playing for Carver-Columbus, proved to be an underrated MVP last week. In his team’s win over Dougherty, he not only ran for two TD’s, but he accounted for 12 of his team’s 16 points. As Credle and his team continue to march forward into the rest of the season, it will be more than interesting to see how he continues to step up for his team, as he has proven to be a reliable asset for his offense.
