The players below all showed out and left it on the field, all while being leaders for their teams. Many will be familiar names, but hopefully some will be new to you! We have more on the way as well.
Harold Perkins Harold Perkins 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Cypress Park | 2022 State TX – Cypress Park
There is a reason why Perkins is one of the most recruited players in the country and the film explains it all. He is a star on both sides of the ball and is gifted with so much talent. At any point of the game, Perkins can dictate the outcome. The speed off the edge on defense, the speed with the ball on offense, the athletic ability to do anything on the field makes him a true 5 star. His play earned him first district on both sides of the ball for his senior year.
Connor Been Connor Been 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Klein Cain | 2022 State TX – Klein Cain
Been was a menace on the field every time he touched it. He manned down the defense, filled gaps properly, and was an absolute sure tackler who brought the boom with him. Been did not run around blockers, he ran through them. A physical player who got the job done. Been finished his senior year with 132 tackles, including a 20 tackle game, 20 TFLs, and 8 sacks. An outstanding backer who can bring success to any program with his defensive play.
Brian Eashmond – Westfield
A backer who plays comfortably in space, Eashmond flashed great coverage skills and chase down abilities. He showed the speed to cover much ground and the awareness to keep eyes on opposing quarterbacks. Eashmond’s skill made it easy for him to come off a coverage to pursuit runners, which really made his game impressive.
Teylan Nelson – Cy Ranch
Nelson was a true playmaker for his team on defensive. He made play after play consistently, and played with much passion and fire! Nelson’s motor goes unquestioned, as he never stopped running from whistle to whistle. He shot gaps untouched with his quickness and put the opposition in the dirt. Nelson showed his versatility, being able to drop back into coverage as well as be a plug in the run game efficiently. He was an all around star for his senior season who caught many eyes.
Kiemond Emilien – Westfield
Emilien is an outside backer who only played at one speed. Fast. An absolute disruptor from the outside who played the nickel position as well. When unblocked and free to make a play, he did it. He was too quick for blockers to get a hold of him and too agile for any skill positions to touch him. Emilien racked up 75 tackles with 11TFLs and 2 sacks to finish his senior season.
Roy Morris – C.E King
Morris is a very instinctual player who showed great football skills as a linebacker. A big hitter who also went for the strip when the team needed it. You can tell by the way he played that the team fed off of his energy and he brought the juice on almost every play. A very quick player who diagnosed plays in a hurry and made stops before plays started. Morris put up 107 tackles with 20 TFLs and showed that he is not a player to be taken lightly. Excellent senior season from him.
Justin Medlock Justin Medlock 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Manvel | 2022 State TX – Manvel
Another excellent backer who did not take any false steps, but instead just shot out of a cannon. Medlock usually read one thing and just took off, which worked in his favor. He showed great range, able to work sideline to sideline with very good lateral speed, and tackling skills. 97 tackles and 12 TFLs for Medlock on the season as he showed why he’ll be playing for the Utah Utes next season.
