Springdale finished the 2021 season with a 1-9 record. However, that record does not take into account a team that continued to work every week. The Bulldogs have plenty players returning that are looking to build off the positives of this season.
Tough losses to Farmington and Van Buren got the season off to a rough start for the Bulldogs. The lone victory of the season came against Rogers Heritage. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have quite a bit of a young talent returning for next season and this group has the potential to be a dangerous football team.
Looking first, at the offensive side of the ball for the Bulldogs. Quarterback Landon Phipps Landon Phipps 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Springdale | 2022 State AR can hurt you throwing the football or running the ball. Phipps has an accurate arm and does not force the ball into tight coverage. He is versatile to pull the ball down and pick up yards on the ground and the Bulldogs have been able to play him on both sides of the ball. Springdale is not going to have an easy time replacing the senior quarterback in 2022.
At the running back position, senior running back Da’von Sparks Da’von Sparks 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Springdale | 2022 State AR had another impressive season for Springdale. Sparks has impressive speed and has a knack for finding the rushing lanes quickly. Meanwhile, he is a patient runner, and he does allow a hole to develop instead of running right into the teeth of the defense. Junior running back Za’Marion Manuel Za’Marion Manuel 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Springdale | 2023 State AR with his 4.5 speed will have the opportunity to see plenty of carries next season as well as see plenty of snaps in the secondary for the Bulldogs.
Sophomore wide receiver Peyton Phipps Peyton Phipps 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Springdale | 2024 State AR is going to be a player to watch out for over the next few seasons. At 6’2”, Phipps uses his size well to high point the football and he is the type of receiver that can make plenty of plays in the passing game. Look for Phipps to see plenty of playing time next season and his versatility will have an impact on the number of positions he will play next season.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs have several talented players that will have a chance to impress scouts and coaches next season. Linebacker Mychael Dickerson Mychael Dickerson 6'0" | 180 lbs | LB Springdale | 2025 State AR and defensive back Ta’Jon Sparks Ta’Jon Sparks 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Springdale | 2023 State AR are both players that can make plays on the defensive side of the ball. Sparks has the hands and speed to make plays on both sides of the ball and will be a player with the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.

Mason Spencer-Wide Receiver-5’10” 155-Pounds
Za’Marion Manuel Za’Marion Manuel 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Springdale | 2023 State AR -Running Back-5’10” 148-Pounds
