Because of the circumstances, these MVP’s have been even more impressive than those who we have seen in previous weeks, as these players have stepped up even more when they were needed the most. Below, take some time to review some of our favorite MVP’s from last week.
Prentiss Noland Prentiss Noland 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Langston Hughes | 2024 State GA (QB)- Langston Hughes
Prentiss Noland Prentiss Noland 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Langston Hughes | 2024 State GA , in which we have been giving praise since this past offseason, has remained one of the better playmakers for his team. This was proven last week as he completed 12 of his 17 passes, and helped his team advance to the state championship. With this, he also passed for 248 yards, and 4 TD’s, meaning that he contributed to 24 of his team’s 41 points that day.
Demarkus Lundy (RB)- Irwin County
Lundy was a major part of his team’s offense last week, as he led the rushing attack against Wilcox County. In this game, he toted the rock 18 times for 145 yards. With this, he also totaled 2 TD’s on the ground, and he also caught a TD pass, only proving that he was unstoppable and able to catch the opposing defense off balance.
David Dallas David Dallas 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Trinity Christian | 2022 State GA (QB)- Trinity Christian
Last Friday, not only did Dallas get another big win for his team in the playoffs, but he helped them reach the state championship. In a close 48-45 win, Dallas can be viewed as his team’s MVP. He not only rushed for 96 yards, and 2 TD’s, but he also completed 27 of his 34 passes. With this, he also threw for 334 yards and 4 TD’s. If this isn’t impressive enough, one of these passes was a game winning pass in the game’s 2nd overtime. With this all being said, Dallas contributed to 36 of his team’s 48 points.
Josiah Wyatt Josiah Wyatt 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Buford | 2022 State GA (DL)- Buford
Not only has Buford continued to advance in the playoffs, but Wyatt has continued to dominate on the defensive side of the ball for his team. Last week, not only did Buford find themselves on the winning end of a 21-6 score against Carrolton, but Wyatt was a big contributing factor of this occurring due to his 2 and a half sacks.
Camren Jackson (DL)- Cedar Grove
During Cedar Creek’s dominating 27-6 win over Appling County, the team as a whole totaled 9 sacks. One of the leaders in sacks in this game was Camren Jackson, who totaled 2 of these sacks himself, and very timely tackles in game time situations.
JaFredrick Perry (RB)- Warner Robins
Last week, in their big win over Creekside, Perry emerged as another big MVP in the state of Georgia’s semifinal round of the playoffs. In the game, not only did he rush for 4 TD’s, but he totaled about 60 yards on only 8 carries. In the game, his longest run was of 20 yards, helping his average by the end of the game to be of 7.5 yards.
Rodney Shelly (WR/DB)- Langston Hughes
Even though Shelly only caught 4 passes last Friday, he managed to total 146 yards. With this, he was a huge difference maker for his team, as 4 of the passes he caught were touchdowns. This isn’t all though, because Shelly was also effective on the defensive side of the ball due to the fact that he intercepted a pass as well.
