We’re seeing younger and younger players standing out and getting varsity playing time at an earlier age. After last fall, it’s easy to see all of the impressive 2024 prospects who continue to rise up the Prep Redzone rankings.
Here are some 2024 prospects on offense who entered the latest Prep Redzone rankings.…
Waltclaire Flynn Jr. – OL – Grayson
A standout sophomore for the Rams, Flynn Jr. is a stout, powerful lineman at 6-foot-2 290-pounds who opened up holes all year long for the Rams rushing attack. He’s coming off a big weekend where he not only committed to play in the 2024 All-American Bowl, but he had a monster game on the field, helping the Rams score six rushing touchdowns in the 48-14 win. He graded out at 80% with 7 knockdowns on the day as well. He’s a road-grader who opens holes on a consistent basis. He was named “Offensive Play of the Game” for the Rams even though two other players each scored three touchdowns in the game. He’s playing his best football right now, and that’s good news for Grayson.
Landen Thomas Landen Thomas 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE Colquitt County | 2024 State GA – TE – Colquitt County
One of the top 2024 playmakers in the state, sophomore tight end Landen Thomas Landen Thomas 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE Colquitt County | 2024 State GA is one of the top tight end prospects in the South with a great frame and athleticism. At 6-foot-4 210-pounds, Thomas is a mismatch problem for defenses. He’s a big-bodied pass catcher who is only scratching the surface of his potential. Thomas caught only 31 passes so fall, but they’ve gone for 516 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s also an impact blocker on the edge and will continue to add more weight and muscle over the next few years, helping him build more strength to go along with his ability to catch passes. Look for Thomas to be ranked as one of the top 2024 TE prospects in American down the road.
Caleb Holmes Caleb Holmes 6'3" | 285 lbs | OL Creekside | 2024 State GA – OL – Creekside
One of the top young offensive line prospects in the state, the Creekside (GA) sophomore made a big impact as a freshman last year and was excellent in his 2nd season this past fall. A big, physical interior offensive lineman, Holmes stands at 6-foot-3 285-pounds and has bowled over defensive linemen all fall. He plays with a solid base and does a nice job of using leverage to get underneath the defenders pads. He’s a true road-grader in the run game and is only going to get strong over the next few years.
Jerrick Gibson Jerrick Gibson 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Mundy's Mill | 2023 FL – RB – Mundy’s Mill
The 2024 class at running back is extremely deep and the metro-Atlanta back from Mundy’s Mill is one of the best. A quick, shifty back at 5-foot-10 180-pounds, Gibson knows how to make defenders miss and looks to be running at a different speed whenever he has the ball. Gibson is a game-changing back in the region and already has plans to play in the SEC. He’s already one of the top running backs in Atlanta and he’ll be one of the best backs across the state in 2022. He’s got the speed, acceleration, and big-play ability to continue to rise in the 2024 rankings over time.
