To start with we have to congratulate the South Oak Cliff Bears on their state championship! First year head coach Jason Todd has done an outstanding job with the program. To go along with their State Championship and multiple players receiving Division One scholarships their team GPA is an outstanding 3.1. Their offensive line performed valiantly all year and paved the way for them to get to and through the State Championship. One of those outstanding performers up front was class of 2023 Brione Brooks. Brione is a massive offensive guard weighing in at 360 lbs, and he imposed his will on defenders all year. Brione has a bevy of division one offers and has a very high ceiling. If he reshapes his body composition he has a chance to be a household name. With how massive he and the rest of their offensive line is, it’s not hard to tell why they were able to run the ball successfully all year.
Dennis Jones Dennis Jones 6'6" | 340 lbs | OL South Oak Cliff | 2022 State TX . Dennis is a massive prospect at 6’5, 350 lbs in the class of 2022, who was also a huge part of the success of their unit. With performances like he had this year, he will definitely get the opportunity to showcase his skills at the next level.
The next unit that we have to congratulate is the Westlake high school offensive line. They brought home yet another state championship! To many fans of Texas high school football, they are well known as the University of Westlake at Austin and it’s not hard to tell why. With them capturing the program’s third straight state title, they are officially a certified dynasty.
They are a very disciplined team that plays through the whistle, coupled with a very nasty offensive line.
Leading the charge is All America talent TJ Shanahan Jr.
TJ comes from a lineage of outstanding football players. His brother Michael Shanahan is an FCS All American out of UT Martin, who has picked up multiple power 5 offers.
In my rankings, TJ is going to be the same caliber of player and one of the best interior guys in this class. TJ is an assertive player with an old-school O lineman mentality. He also possesses great pop in his hips. TJ is a powerful athlete who is seen on film constantly trying to finish guys.
Another big-time performer out of the University at Westlake that they had this year was class of 2022 Bray Lynch Bray Lynch 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Westlake | 2022 State TX . Bray is an Indiana commit and polished prospect who I believe will kick inside at the next level. With him being a true freshman he will provide immediate depth for the Hoosiers offensive line. With a huge winter, spring & summer in the weight room, I predict him to be in contention to push for a starting spot. What I like about his game is his patience and he always looks as if he’s in the right place on tape. These young men personify what it means to be a OLinemen and it’s awesome to be able to watch them lead their programs to success!
