Official Houston 6th & 7th Grade FBU NC Preview
First Things First: With Team Houston’s 6th-grade team winning the National Championship in 2014, being able to get back to that success is essential. Although Team Houston’s 7th-grade team has yet to make a finals week appearance, look for them to make a major push to change the narrative and force their way into the conversation as being one of the Nations premier teams.
Offensive Approach: Tempo will be a key attribute for ensuring the Air Raid offense keeps defenses off-balanced at the FBU National Championship. With implementing many route combinations for all situations, and having dynamic athletes that can make plays in the open field, look for Team Houston’s 6th and 7th-grade team to make many explosive plays downfield.
Defensive Approach: Causing chaos in the backfield, while also showcasing controlled violence between the whistles is what Team Houston wants to showcase at the FBU National Championship. Playing suffocating defense with many different coverages while also adding in fire zones will help Team Houston accomplish their defensive goals.
The Dandy 4
Trey Giametta I Tight End
At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Trey can line up in many different positions which makes him extremely valuable. With enough speed to outrun linebackers and enough strength and physicality to block defensive linemen, Trey will be nothing short of dynamic at the FBU National Championship. Furthermore, with being implemented into the Air Raid offense, look for Team Houston to take advantage of Trey’s ability to be flexed out in the slot for many opportunities in space.
Dillon Mitchell I Running Back
Dillon “Superman” Mitchell will be the fastest athlete on the field at all times at the FBU National Championship. With a running style that resembles former University Of Oregon standout, De’Anthony Thomas, look for Dillon to make dynamic plays all over the field from multiple positions. When the ball is in his hands, don’t blink, because this Dandy is heading to the end-zone.
Cade Haug I Linebacker
Cade is an impressive athlete that runs side-line to side-line every play. At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Cade has the ability to plug gaps with ease. With his noticeable quickness and instincts at the linebacker position, look for Team Houston to use Cade in many different ways to cause chaos. From dropping in coverage, to successfully executing delayed blitzes Cade can do it all. Look for this Dandy to lead Team Houston to victory at the FBU National Championship.
Tommy Brown I Offensive Line
When discussing an athlete’s potential many boxes have to be checked for recruiters and scouts. For Tommy, all boxes are marked and his potential is through the roof. At 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, Tommy has elite size for his age that will only increase over time. To go along with his size, Tommy can get to the second and third level in a hurry on zone and combo blocking plays. With his ability to knock lineman off the ball, look for Team Houston to use this Dandy effectively, especially when things get tough.
