We always strive to make these rankings as thorough and comprehensive as possible here at Prep Redzone and our last rankings updated, before the start of the 2021 high school season, featured several hundred prospects in the Class of 2022. But in the months since those were released we have seen several intriguing prospects emerge.
Here is a look at some prospects who are making their debuts in the rankings with the latest post-season update:
OL Rashad Turner Rashad Turner 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Carnahan | 2022 State MO Carnahan (No. 54)
Turner, who signed with Southeast Missouri State a few weeks ago, is a 6-foot-5, 270-pounder with good size, strength and athleticism. He played left tackle for Carnahan, which competes in St. Louis’s Public High League, and looks like he could develop into a nice lineman at the next level.
TE Kortez Stevenson Kortez Stevenson 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE KC Center | 2022 State MO KC Center (No. 74)
A 6-4, 230-pound tight end/edge rusher, Stevenson is another member of Southeast Missouri State’s large signing class earlier this month that looked to take advantage of the current state of Division I recruiting where COVID and the transfer portal have caused schools to offer fewer high school prospects.
Stevenson, who is also a standout basketball player for Center High School, is a big-bodied tight end — there are some measurements out there that list him at 6-6 and 250 pounds – who is athletic enough that he could develop as a tight end, defensive lineman or offensive lineman in the next few years.
WR Nathan Ryan Nathan Ryan 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Troy Buchanan | 2022 State MO Troy Buchanan (No. 76)
The first newcomer on our list who has yet to commit to a college program, Ryan came out for football for the first time and emerged as one of the Show-Me State’s best wide receivers. The 6-3, 195-pounder caught 59 passes for 1,279 yards — averaging 22.1 yards per catch — and 15 touchdowns as the Trojans made it all the way to the Class 6 semifinals.
Ryan, who also plays basketball, has the size, speed and hands that every college football program is looking for at the wide receiver position. We recently caught up with Ryan’s high school coach who said the talented senior is weighing offers from several Division II programs.
WR Drew Krobath Drew Krobath 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Rockwood Summit | 2022 State MO Rockwood Summit (No. 80)
Krobath, a 6-2, 185-pounder, did a little bit of everything to fuel Rockwood Summit’s record-setting 11-1 campaign. He caught a team-best 42 passes for 676 yards and 10 touchdowns. He recorded 22 tackles and a team-high three interceptions. He kicked eight field goals and averaged nearly 31 yards per punt attempt. He has attracted some college interest following his strong senior season and has offers from Butler and Lindenwood, among others.
TE Kaden Degraffenreid Kaden Degraffenreid 6'7" | 260 lbs | TE Boliver | 2022 State MO Boliver (No. 82)
Degraffenreid is a 6-7, 260-pounder who committed to Pittsburg State on December 1 and could play any number of positions at the next level. He earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-state honors as a defensive lineman and second-team all-conference honors as an offensive lineman. Or he could offer even more versatility as a big-bodied blocking tight end.
