1. Austin Novosad Austin Novosad 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Dripping Springs | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
Commitment: Baylor
Novosad is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the state. It is fitting that he goes to a high octane offense such as Baylor in the Big 12. Novosad not only has great accuracy and a powerful arm, but his field awareness is a huge bonus. He makes very few mistakes and can sling the ball in tight spots. Baylor has produced some great quarterbacks in the past, so Novosad is in good hands.
2. Che Nwabuko (SR-RB/WR) – Manor High School (Manor, TX)
Signed: Pittsburgh
Being able to play both in the running back position and receiver position, Nwabuko carries a lot of speed. Although primarily in the receiver position, according to his highlights, Nwabuko has an excellent vision of the field when rushing out of the field. His speed and agility especially come in handy on short pass plays or on deep routes. He can outrun just about anyone and has great hands to boot. Pittsburgh has gained a huge asset to its offense.
3. Cade Klubnik Cade Klubnik 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2022 State TX (SR-QB) – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
Signed: Clemson
To no surprise, Klubnik finalized his signing with Clemson. Given how talented and elite Klubnik is, Clemson just continues to gain talent. Not much can be said about the Westlake quarterback that has not been said by multiple publications across the nation. He is smart, accurate, has great awareness, and can fling the ball across the field. He is all the makings of a legendary quarterback and given Clemson’s track record, Klubnik is in a perfect spot.
4. Treylin Payne Treylin Payne 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Judson | 2022 State TX (SR-LB) – Judson High School (Converse, TX)
Signed: Houston
Disruptive season after season, Payne finished his signing with Houston. The Cougars gain a linebacker who is not only excellent at play recognition but can make plays as well. Whether it is intercepting a throw, or getting the sack. Payne is an opportunist in the linebacker spot and makes the lives of opposing offenses a nightmare. He will certainly add to disruption for the Houston defense.
5. Diego Tello (SR-QB) – Bowie High School (Austin, TX)
Signed: UTSA
With how UTSA performed this season, it is more important than ever for the Roadrunners to get excellent talent. They achieved that by sending an offer to Tello. He has a heck of an arm and has great accuracy when throwing deep and while on the run. Even if the defense is in his face, Tello is calm and can still make the play. He makes deep passes and corner endzone shots look easy. Considering UTSA could be set for another great year, Tello has an excellent opportunity.
