Continue ReadingOn Friday night December 17th, 2021 I went to Dallas, TX to watch the UIL 5A Division I State Championship High School football game at The AT&T Stadium. The game was between The Katy Paetow Panthers (15-1) vs The College Station Cougars (15-1). Both teams are evenly matched there was no telling who would win this game. By the end of the 1st half both teams were tied at 14-14 and then by the end of the 4th quarter they were tied again at 21-21. Therefore, this led the game going into overtime. The momentum kept on flipping between both of the teams throughout the whole game. However, one team had to win the game and The Katy Paetow Tigers scored a touchdown during overtime resulting in a final score of 27-24. The Katy Paetow Tigers are the 5A division I state champions. I will be discussing The Katy Paetow Tigers offensive standouts.
#25 Jacob Brown RB Sr 6’0 200 lbs
Jacob Brown is a strong and tenacious running back. Every time Jacob ran the ball he stood out. Jacob was a powerful runner and hard to bring down. Jacob was usually able to break one or two tackles per run. Jacob is definitely the backbone of Paetow’s offense. Jacob was able to end out his high school football career a state champion. Jacob is also a top college prospect having numerous college and universities offers from; Navarro College, Houston Baptist University, Howard Payne University, Texas Wesleyan University, and Cisco junior college. Jacob wrapped up his final high school football game with 33 carries, 112 rushing yards and rushed in one touchdown.
#41 Gene Kendall FB Jr 5’11 210 lbs
Gene Kendall is a reliable and dependable full back. Gene was good at blocking and solid runner when he needed to. Gene didn’t get a lot of chances to run the ball, but when he did he was able to put Paetow in a great spot. Gene stats by the end of the game aren’t the most impressive, but he definitely contributed to Paetow winning the state championships. Gene’s stats in this game was three carries, 10 rushing yards and one touchdown.
#11 Kole Wilson WR Sr 5’9 165 lbs
Kole Wilson is an incredibly fast wide receiver and most reliable target. Whenever, Paetow found themselves in a tough spot the quarterback always threw a pass to Kole. Kole caught a ton of passes, but Kole’s most impressive play was when he got a handoff and ran the ball. Kole dashed around the inside and was able to break three tackles for a 25 yard gain. Kole was able to end out his high school football career a state champion. Kole is also a college prospect having numerous college and universities offers from; Morgan State University, Texas Southern University, Lamar University, Norfolk State University, Davenport University and etc. Kole wrapped up his final high school football game with one carries, 25 rushing yards, nine receptions and 94 receiving yards with 119 all purpose yards.
#15 CJ Dumas CJ Dumas 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Paetow | 2022 State TX QB Sr 6’3 195 lbs
CJ Dumas CJ Dumas 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Paetow | 2022 State TX properly lead his offense and is a great quarterback. CJ was great at quick passes getting the ball out as soon as he get it. CJ was also great long passes his offensive line provided him great protection letting him air the ball out. CJ could also run the ball if it was needed. CJ was able to end out his high school football career a state champion. CJ is also a college prospect having two college and universities offers from; Prairie View A&M University and Drake University. CJ wrapped up his final high school football with 16 completions out of 23 passes and rushed in one touchdown himself.
