Continue ReadingRankings are often misconstrued with stars and recruiting, but we often forget that play on the field should be the main factor. The top 2022 players show dominance on film and in turn, have received scholarship offers from some top schools. The ability to dominant for the entire high school football season is tough and should be rewarded properly.
Here are the top 11-20 players from last week’s 2022 rankings update, with some notes from film with some recruiting tidbits.
11. Deshaun Lee Deshaun Lee 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Belleville | 2022 State MI | DB | Belleville
One of the best players to watch on tape. Has an edge that translates onto the field. He has some dominant after the catch ability as a wideout, but his ability as a defensive back where he’s able to make plays on the football is equally as fun to watch. Lee has the potential to be a special player at the next level.
Belleville freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood would connect with Deshaun Lee for two touchdowns in the 12-7 win over Fordson in the Division 1 Football Regional Final this afternoon. @deshaun3lee @BryceUnderwoo16 @JermainCrowell#StateChamps X @MHSAA pic.twitter.com/WlgEXaza5m

12. Michael Williams II Michael Williams II 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB West Bloomfield | 2022 State MI | LB | West Bloomfield
Not many players had better 2021 seasons on the defensive side of the ball than Williams. He’s as tough a linebacker as they come and shows a lot of athletic versatility when he needs to. A premier recruit who is still making his collegiate decision.
Very blessed to announce I have made defensive player of the year. Thank you to everyone who has helped me a long the way, you all have been a great help to me! https://t.co/lWTLqkx0lI pic.twitter.com/95PwPPn00H

13. Jeremiah Caldwell Jeremiah Caldwell 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Belleville | 2022 State MI | ATH | Belleville
Caldwell is one of many playmakers on Belleville. He can cover extremely well as a defensive back and has the ability to stretch the defense and get over the top as a wideout. Coaches should love his athleticism and versatility.
Game on the line, Bryce Underwood finds Jeremiah Caldwell on 3rd and 9 to keep the drive going. Belleville trying to run the clock out with a two point lead. https://t.co/hJOd5jnCP1 pic.twitter.com/JeifANAysA

14. Aidan Vaughn Aidan Vaughn 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Walled Lake Western | 2022 State MI | LB | Walled Lake Western
An instinctive linebacker who had a phenomenal 2021 season. He has great technique in his tackles and the strength to pull ball carriers down. There’s enough there athletically to back pedal and play in the secondary as well. The Wisconsin commit will fit right into the Badgers scheme on defense.
All glory to god🙏
