DeAndre Coleman – Hueytown WR (2022)
Coleman had another huge performance for Hueytown against Spain Park. He recorded 7 catches for 204 yards and two scores. He also added 3 carries for 80 yards and another touchdown. Coleman has thrived this season as one of the top playmakers on the high scoring offense in Alabama high school football. I really like his combination of size, speed, and ability after the catch. Coastal Carolina is getting a great player next season!
Devin Finley – Clay Chalkville DE/OLB (2023)
Finley was everywhere in Friday’s win over Oak Mountain. He recorded 4 tackles, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a 26 yard interception return for a touchdown. Finley has an explosive jump off the line of scrimmage that has allows him to get into opposing backfields. The junior has been an impact player on a great Cougars defense this season. Keep your eyes on Finley in the class of 2023.
Gabe Gamble – Pelham RB (2022)
Gamble had a great performance for the Panthers against Homewood. The senior recorded 18 carries for 193 yards and a touchdown. Gamble is a powerful running back and his low center of gravity makes him extremely tough in between the tackles. I like how he is always fighting for extra yardage and runs with authority. Gamble also has a nice burst of speed once he gets into the open field.
Carlos Herring Carlos Herring 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Pell City | 2023 State AL – Pell City DB (2023)
Herring led the Pell City defense during a big win over Mae Jemison. He recorded 11 tackles, 2 TFL, and one sack. He also added 4 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown on offense. Herring has the ability to play both sides of the ball effectively. He is very explosive and always flying to the football on defense. He has the size to be an effective tackler but also the length to have great coverage on the opposing teams top receiver. Herring is an under-the-radar player to watch in the class of 2023. He is poised to have a huge senior season next year.
Baylor Smith – Pell City QB (2022)
Smith could not have asked for a better performance in his final high school game with the Panthers. He completed 19 of 22 passes for 363 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also added 19 yards on 8 carries in the run game. Smith was effective at getting the ball to his playmakers on time and allowing them to gain yards after the catch. I thought he displayed solid accuracy and touch on throws over 15 yards. Smith recorded 1,881 yards passing and 15 touchdowns this year leading the Pell City offense.
