Opponents that they have defeated include the likes of Cook, Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, Baldwin, Bainbridge, Coffee, Warner Robins, and Robins. Their only loss on the year came to Benedictine. This upcoming week, as they face off against Wayne County, they will look to add another win to their record, potentially capping off an undefeated regional schedule this year. Additionally, it should be noted that Ware can viewed to be a very well rounded team, and has great chance of making a run in the playoffs this year. Only time will tell if they really can do this, and how they may be viewed statewide by other teams, and fans.
At this point of the season, Ware County has outscored their opponents 289-164. Along the way of achieving such things, players such as Thomas Castellanos Thomas Castellanos 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Ware County | 2022 State GA , who has stood out for the Gators, has already managed to throw for 18 TD’s, to only 8 interceptions. In addition to this, he has almost thrown for 2,000 yards, with a current total of 1,963 yards in the air. The primary recipients of these passes include that of Jarvis Hayes, Cartevious Norton Cartevious Norton 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Ware County | 2022 State GA , Dakari Coachman, Brandon Washington, Dae’jeaun Dennis, and James Daniels. Out of this entire group, Hayes leads the squad with over 500 receiving yards, and 8 TD’s. These 8 TD’s contribute to the team’s total of 18 receiving TD’s. In addition to this, the team has also had success on the ground, as they have ran for over 1,960 yards. Leading the pack in this category is Cartevious Norton Cartevious Norton 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Ware County | 2022 State GA who has rushed for over 1,030 yards and 10 TD’s. Second to Norton, is Castellanos, who has also been a game changer with 9 rushing TD’s and 650 yards.
As a unit, the defense has also had their own success, including being able to hold opposing team’s to a total of 164 points this season. Players including Trey Hargrove, Malik Mitchell, LJ Hall, Bo Hampton, and Elijah Williams have all stood out for the team, making plays on all levels of the defense. This includes on the defensive line, in the secondary, and in the middle. Moving forward, the team will have to be able to step up against top tier teams, as this may be one of the harder areas for them to perform in the post season. Nevertheless, if the team can continue to make big stops, and plays, they will have a chance to be great.
