Lucas Boiteux (2022) | 6’1 WR/FS | Walter Johnson
Boiteux showed that he is a big-play threat. He has good speed and is able to run by defenders. He also has good hands so he is able to come down with contested balls. He showed off those hands on defense as he was a ball hawk and came down with a key interception in the red zone. Boiteux is a playmaker on both sides of the ball.
JD Weaver (2022) | 5’10 HB/DE | BCC
In BCC’s wing T triple-option system Weaver is used as a wing-back. Weaver did well with his carries as he broke multiple runs. He runs hard and is able to break tackles. He does a great job of running north-south and picking up positive yardage. On defense, he plays on the edge and does a good job of setting to the edge and playing contain. He also uses his speed advantage to blow by blockers when he is pass rushing. Weaver had a fantastic all-around game in his final high school game.
Will Gardner (2022) | 6’2 QB | Walter Johnson
Walter Johnson’s pass game was very threatening Friday. The big reason why is because of Gardner. He made some big throws. He showed off his strong arm and had great touch on the intermediate throws. He also showed off athleticism and that he has the ability to run with the football. Gardner put together a complete game and was a big reason Walter Johnson came home with a win.
Shane Schwartz (2022) | 5’7 FB/LB | BCC
Schwartz has been one of the best linebackers in the county. He showed off that he has sideline to sideline range playing against Walter Johnson’s spread. He also wreaked havoc when he was used as a Blitzer. On offense throughout the season he was mostly used as a blocking back but this game he showed off his ability to run the ball as he had 2 Touchdowns. Schwartz was one of this year’s biggest breakout stars.
Amir Frye Amir Frye 6'3" | 225 lbs | DL Walter Johnson | 2022 MD (2022) | 6’3 LB | Walter Johnson
Frye traditionally lines up on the edge but Walter Johnson moved him to middle linebacker this game. On blitzes, he shot in the backfield before the offensive line was able to react. He made plenty of plays in the backfield. He also showed great range and pursuit as he was able to make plays on both off-tackle runs and outside runs. He has had a great season and the game last Friday was no different.
Jeremiah Bruce (2022) | 6’5 DT | BCC
Bruce has been a force in the run game all defense. Friday was just another game where Bruce showed off his run-stuffing ability. He used his size to plug the gaps and not allow anything inside. He also showed off good hands when he fought blockers. He also was able to make tackles while still engaged in blocks. Bruce was a big reason BCC had such a stingy run defense.
