1. Preston Alford Preston Alford 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Dripping Springs | 2022 State TX (SR-RB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
Stats: 155 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns
Alford once again crushed the competition with a staggering four rushing touchdowns. He has been unstoppable all season and he capped off his regular season with yet another big performance. Alford dashes into the postseason with some serious momentum.
2. Kyle Koch (SO-WR) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
Stats: 6 receptions, 70 receiving yards
Although Dripping Springs did not have any scoring throws, Koch stuck out by leading the team in both receptions and yards. He averaged 11.7 yards per catch which included a 39-yard reception. Koch has popped up a few times throughout the season on Prep Redzone and given that he is a sophomore, he will likely be popping up even more in the future.
3. John Jackson (SO-RB) – Seguin High School (Seguin, TX)
Stats: 136 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
The sophomore running back did do some damage against a tough Dripping Springs defense. Although senior quarterback Troy Falgout got two rushing touchdowns in the game, Jackson was the one getting the yards on the ground. Dripping Springs seemed to not really have an answer for him which is promising for such a young back.
4. Devin Matthews (JR-WR) – Seguin High School (Seguin, TX)
Stats: 7 receptions, 150 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown
Much Dripping Springs, Seguin did not do most of its scoring through the air, but when the Matadors did, Matthews was the answer. He was essentially the sole target for Falgout all game and made the Dripping Springs defense pay constantly, getting 21.4 yards per reception.
