Jordan Brown Jordan Brown 6'4" | 170 lbs | WR Free State | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-4, 176 pound receiver, 2022, Free State:
The former 4A all state receiver (as well as hoops star) at Basehor-Linwood hasn’t had quite the same opportunity in the receiving game at Free State. But there’s no question what this long, angular leaper can do with the football. If the Firebirds have to step it up in the passing game against undefeated #1 seed Derby, look for them to rely heavily on Brown.
Chase Cottam, 5-foot-11 receiver, 2023, Wamego:
The dynamic receiver on the end of many Hayden Oviatt Hayden Oviatt 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Wamego | 2023 State KS passes, Cottam is a big play waiting to happen. He takes an inordinate number of receptions to the house. Wamego will need all the firepower it can get against 9-1 Andover Central.
Joe Hall, 6-foot-2, 190 pound receiver, 2022, Manhattan:
Hall is a big, solidly built target who makes a lot of big plays for the Indians. In a nail-biter against Gardner-Edgerton, Hall turned in the game’s longest play from scrimmage, a 56-yard touchdown catch. In a run-first offense, his 20 catches for 247 yards and 3 scores are impressive. The 9-1 Indians will have their hands full with 8-2 Lawrence.
Gannon Remer, 5-foot-11 receiver, 2022, Silver Lake:
The Eagles fill the air with footballs, and quarterback Daigan Kruger Daigan Kruger 5'10" | 185 lbs | QB Silver Lake | 2022 State KS has lots of talented targets to look to. But Remer has been his primary target, having caught 35 passes for 512 yards and 9 touchdowns. Kruger and Remer will have to be sharp Friday when the 8-2 Eagles take on District 2 top seed Wellsville.
Cole Watson Cole Watson 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE Lawrence | 2023 State KS , 6-foot-5, 220 pound tight end, 2023, Lawrence:
A big receiver getting a lot of college looks, Watson doesn’t catch a ton of passes, but scouts recognize his ability. He can run and jump and box out like a power forward. He will be needed when the 8-2 Lions take on 9-1 Manhattan.
