They head into San Diego’s Open-Division playoffs with a matchup against 2-seeded Cathedral Catholic on Friday, November 12th. Here are players to watch on the Mission Hills side:
Peter Eyabi- DE, 2022
Eyabi has been a disruptive force on the front seven for the Mission Hills defense this season. He impacts the game as a physical run-stopper containing the edge and getting after the QB as a pass-rusher. He plays with great leverage at his DE spot, fights off blocks with strength and violent hands, and moves well laterally containing outside runs. He’s shown explosive athleticism at the LOS and good bend around the edge. Eyabi is one of the more underrated DL in San Diego and will be tasked with pressuring talented Cathedral QB Charlie Mirer Charlie Mirer 6'6" | 225 lbs | QB Cathedral Catholic | 2022 State CA in the first round this Friday.

Jaiden Letua- LB, 2022
Letua is another physical leader on the Mission Hills front seven who’s made a huge impact from his LB spot. He’s a violent player in the run game tackling sideline-to-sideline and shows athleticism making plays in coverage. He flies around to the ball and is consistently a leading tackler on a defense with talented pieces. Letua and the MH defense will have their hands full containing Mirer and standout RB Lucky Sutton Lucky Sutton 6'1" | 205 lbs | RB Cathedral Catholic | 2022 State CA .

Matt Martin- WR, 2022
Moore is the star, do-it-all WR that drives the Mission Hills passing game. He’s one of the most talented WRs in San Diego and is a matchup nightmare for any secondary he faces. He has the speed to challenge defenders downfield and produces explosive catch-and-run plays. Martin will be a point of emphasis for an athletic and physical Cathedral secondary.
#6 Matt Martin says GIVE. ME. THAT. His 2nd touchdown on the night extends the grizzlies lead to 13-0 with 11:29 left in the 3rd Quarter. @MISSIONHILLSHI1

Salas Santiago- ATH, 2023
Santiago has proven to be a versatile weapon in his junior season for the Mission Hills offense. He’s a dangerous playmaker in space taking carries and catching the ball out of the backfield. He can stretch the defense with his speed outside the tackles and is effective taking jet sweeps and designed screens. Santiago will challenge the athleticism of a talented Cathedral defense.

Jordan Dwyer- DB, 2022
Dwyer is one of the top safeties in San Diego and the leader for the Mission Hills secondary. He’s a sure-tackler in the secondary that closes spaces quickly and reacts up quickly to the ball. He uses solid coverage instincts and ball skills to make plays in his deep zone. Dwyer and the rest of the secondary will be tasked with containing the big arm of QB Charlie Mirer Charlie Mirer 6'6" | 225 lbs | QB Cathedral Catholic | 2022 State CA and standout WR Rex Haynes Rex Haynes 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR Cathedral Catholic | 2022 State CA .
