Standout Athletes
Rochester Adams ’23 QB Parker Picot
To put it in the words of Belleville Head Coach Jermain Crowell, 11 can ball. Picot has been sensational all season and he was lighting it up early in this one. Picot made his usual amazing veer reads while delivering some incredible balls down the field. Finishing today’s game with 198 yards passing, 92 yards rushing, and 3TD’s, Picot has plenty to be proud of.
Belleville ’22 WR Jeremiah Caldwell Jeremiah Caldwell 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Belleville | 2022 State MI
4 receptions for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns. What else can I say? Caldwell took advantage of man coverage and ran great routes all day while showing off his blazing fast speed. It was exciting to see some explosive plays from him and I can’t wait to see where he ends up playing college ball.
Rochester Adams ’23 WR Brady Prieskorn
With 4 receptions for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns, Prieskorn played very well against a great defense. Top-tier effort and amazing hands when it mattered most.
Belleville ’25 QB Bryce Underwood
Remember the name, because Underwood is already playing at an elite level as a freshman. He finished with 284 yards passing and 5 touchdowns in a dominant performance. I’m also very impressed by his intelligence at this level.
Belleville ’22 OLB Cameron Dyson Cameron Dyson 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Belleville | 2022 State MI
Dyson finished with 8 tackles today. Other than that the stat line doesn’t pop out, but he had many QB pressures and near sacks. Dyson was a missile off the edge and was a catalyst for Belleville’s phenomenal second-half defensive performance.
Rochester Adams
I guarantee that if you told Adams the time of possession would be 35:14 to 13:46, they’d be incredibly happy. In fact, that’s what the veer is designed to do. Run it and run it and run it some more, tiring you out and eating that clock. Sadly, they had the time of possession, but not the offensive output. Belleville came in with a great game plan and shut them down, especially in the second half. What a year it was for Rochester Adams, and they have lots of talent coming back next season and should remain at the top of the OAA White.
Belleville
When asked the difference between teams from the past few seasons and this one, Coach Jermain Crowell simply said “This one’s a team… We’re together.” This Belleville team played unselfish football today getting the ball out to all of their athletes while playing gap-disciplined defense limiting the Veer offense of Adams. Belleville was the better team today and it’s a historic win for them. Finally, I will leave with some words from Head Coach Jermain Crowell’s press conference.
