Some manage to get the big-time offers early, while others find themselves waiting for their first offer during their final season.
The four senior defensive backs listed below are still journeying through the process of finding a program at the next level. However, each of these players has phenomenal skills and abilities that are worthy of college interest.
Jayden Allen Jayden Allen 5'10" | DB Fountain-Fort Carson | 2022 State CO | Fountain-Fort Carson | 5’11”, 175lbs | FS
Allen is an extremely underrated athlete who thrives on being a problem for offenses. He is a versatile defensive back who can cover the entire field as a safety and lock down a receiver in man coverage as a true corner or a nickel. Allen is also a phenomenal athlete who is just as dangerous in the return game as he is on defense.
What stands out the most about his style of play, besides his breakaway speed, is the sharpness of his instincts. Allen’s fluid movements mixed with his advanced ability to read and react make him an absolute steal in the recruiting game.

Randy Yeboah Randy Yeboah 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Thomas Jefferson | 2022 State CO | Thomas Jefferson | 5’11”, 170lbs | CB
Yeboah is one of the more technically sound cornerbacks in the state, making him one of the least targeted corners in the area. His locked-in playing style is built upon a solid set of fundamentals. He has great eye discipline, quick footwork, physical jams, and explosive breaks.
Yeboah has elite speed which makes him capable of tracking down ball carriers who think they have broken one loose. From start to finish, he balls out on every play. Yeboah is an extremely talented player who would make a great addition to any college secondary.
Marcus Williams Marcus Williams 5'11" | DB Grandview | 2022 State CO | Grandview | 5’11”, 170lbs | CB
Williams is another true cornerback with a great set of skills and statement-making physicality. He is patient at the snap, keeping his eyes on his opponent’s hips while maintaining leverage. Playing in a scheme that often has him responsible for deep thirds shows how flawlessly he can switch from man coverage to zone.
Oftentimes, corners have their physicality questioned when it comes to the run game, but not in Williams’ case. He does a fantastic job at sealing the outside on run plays and tends to be one of the first defenders to make contact with the ball carrier.
Tyler Tolbert Tyler Tolbert 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Cherry Creek | 2022 State CO | Cherry Creek | 6’2”, 175lbs | S
Tolbert is a safety who can play free, strong, and even fill the nickel position with ease. Being a 6-foot-2 athlete with great awareness, lightning reactions, and fearless intentions makes him an elite prospect in the defensive secondary. Tolbert can transition effortlessly between covering the pass as a safety over the top, assisting with run support from the second level, and covering the receiver in the slot.
Playing for one of the state’s top programs has provided Tolbert with the experience of competing against elite talent from around the country, making him no stranger to top-tier competition. Not only does he have a vast amount of skills that help him to stand out on the field, but Tolbert also possesses experience that can translate into off-field leadership.
