Charlie Barth Charlie Barth 5'11" | RB New Providence | 2022 State NJ | New Providence
Barth was the bell cow for the New Providence offense this past weekend as he rushed 44 times for 334 yards and three scores. He averaged 7.5 yards per carry as his strong performance helped New Providence to a 35-13 victory over Delaware Valley. Barth is a downhill runner who does a good job following his lead blocks and hitting the hole hard.
Quasim Ashford | Franklin
The junior had his second big performance in the past 3 weeks as he rushed 32 times for 310 yards and three touchdowns in Franklin’s 34-6 victory over Freehold Township. Ashford has the ability to stop and cut on a dime which allows him to find a seam and get chunk yards. He runs a little high at times but he fights through contact and keeps his legs churning.
Stefano Montella Stefano Montella 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB West Morris | 2023 State NJ | West Morris
Montella had his biggest game of the season as he rushed 24 times for 281 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught one pass that he turned into a 54-yard touchdown as West Morris routed Summit 56-31. Montella is a hard-nosed runner who is patient in allowing the play to develop in front of him. He doesn’t have overpowering speed but when he gets into the open field he’s tough to catch. He scored on runs of 9, 58 and 65 yards.
Jalen Russell | South Plainfield
Russell averaged more than 16 yards per carry as he rushed 17 times for 275 yards and three touchdowns in South Plainfield’s 44-30 victory over Lawrence. Russell is a shifty back who has the speed to get the edge and get past the defense. He has good vision and showcases the ability to make strong cutbacks. He scored on runs of 16, 44, 64 yards.
Matt Dollive | Wall
Dollive averaged 21 yards per carry as he rushed 13 times for 273 yards and four touchdowns in Wall’s 42-7 victory over Hopewell Valley. He’s a patient runner who has the speed and vision to bounce outside. He shows good burst through the line of scrimmage and if he gets into the second level of the defense he has the speed to pull away quickly.
