There were a ton of great games in the area, but the game I decided to go to was The Lamar Texans (7-3) vs The Cy-Fair Bobcats (8-3). Both teams were evenly matched the whole game. Both teams also had amazing defenses making stop after stop resulting in a low scoring game. In the end The Cy-Fair Bobcats were able to get over The Lamar Texans by kicking three field goals which won them the game with a close score of 16-14. The Cy-Fair Bobcats will be moving on to the next round and I’ll be discussing their standout players on both sides of the ball this week.
#4 Owen Carter WR So 6’2 180 lbs
The Cy-Fair Bobcats had a good wide receiver in Owen Carter. Owen was the wide receiver to look out for and he was the main target for the quarterback. Owen is fast and has good foot work. Owen knows how to get off of his man and get open for passes. One play Owen got off his man ran his route caught the ball zoomed down the field and scored the touchdown. For Owen just being a sophomore he’s has a bright future at The Cy-Fair Bobcats.
#5 Landon Arrington WR, RB, QB Sr 6’1 190 lbs
One of or probably the fastest player on The Cy-Fair Bobcats roster is #5 Landon Arrington. Landon could play it all wide receiver, running back and quarterback. However, at quarterback Landon just ran a wildcat formation meaning as soon as he got the snap he took off running. With his speed Landon managed to trip Lamar up and confuse the defense. Landon is a great athlete overall I’m sure a couple colleges and universities have Landon on their radar.
#28 Danny Bahena K Sr 5’11 190 lbs
Cy-Fair’s kicker Danny Bahena was the mvp of the night. Danny had a strong foot kicking three field goals that put Cy-Fair ahead of Lamar. Danny best kick was one where he got hit right before it and still made the 40 yard attempt. Danny is the primary reason for The Cy-Fair Bobcats win Friday night. I’m sure he’ll be a big help in round two of playoffs.
#53 Landon Rink DT Fr 6’3 250 lbs
Landon Rink not only was he the most standout defensive linemen and player, but he’s only in his freshman year. Landon was a beast big and solid defensive tackle fast off the ball and powerful. Everything you want in a defensive tackle Landon has it. Landon is able to quickly swim move or push and pull on an offensive lineman get pass him and get into the backfield. Landon made two big sacks and got a fumble recovery. big sacks and got a fumble recovery. Landon is definitely a defensive linemen to look out for he’s going to be a big name and top college prospect in the next couple years.
#30 Hunter Warren Hunter Warren 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB Cy-Fair | 2022 State TX MLB Sr 5’11 210 lbs
Hunter Warren Hunter Warren 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB Cy-Fair | 2022 State TX is a strong middle linebacker. Hunter is always pursuing the ball, a hard hitter, and a heavy blitzer. Hunter and Landon were applying heavy pressure on Lamar’s offense. Hunter was able to make a big stop on 3rd down and that gave The Cy-Fair Bobcats the momentum they needed.
