This proved to be very beneficial to me, as I was able to find a couple of players that I was unaware of and deserve have earned a spot on the rankings. As a result, I would like to do this more often, and I encourage you to tag myself (@GalindoOsc12) or Prep Redzone Nebraska (@PrepRedzoneNE) in any game clips. With the always refreshing Twitter timeline, sometimes tweets can go unseen, which would help ensure that we can watch those fire game clips.

Malachi Coleman Malachi Coleman 6'5" | 195 lbs | WR Lincoln East | 2023 State NE (WR/DL) | 2023 | Lincoln East | 6’5″ 180 lbs
Season stats: Offense – 17 receptions, 561 yards, 10 touchdowns, 33 yards per catch.
Defense – 57 total tackles, 38 solo,19 assists, 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles
Offers/Interests: Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas State, and Northern Iowa
Malachi experienced a “coming out” season in which he emerged as one of the best receivers in the 2023 class. The talented Spartan receiver has used every tool at his disposal to dominate the competition. He has elite speed, clocking a 4.4 40, and uses it to take the top off of defenses. Coleman’s length is also incredibly frustrating for smaller defensive backs, as he can outreach almost anyone and can extend his long arms to create separation. Coleman has been working very hard to fine-tune his talents and learn the nuances of the position. Coleman’s athleticism doesn’t stop at catching, as he proved to be an imposing defensive end. He was a monster coming off of the edge and created many plays for East. Coleman’s talents have certainly not gone unnoticed by collegiate coaches. Malachi currently holds four offers, three from power-5, and that should continue to increase.
Will Barrett Will Barrett 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Lincoln Southeast | 2022 State NE (ATH) | 2022 | Lincoln Southeast | 5’10″ 180 lbs
Season stats: Offense – 28 carries, 179 yards, one rushing touchdown, 35 receptions, 450 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns.
Interests: Kentucky, South Dakota School of Mines, Augustana, Sioux Falls, Wayne State, Mary, Minnesota State-Mankato
If you’re looking for someone to spark your offense, look no further than Will Barrett Will Barrett 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Lincoln Southeast | 2022 State NE . Barrett is a player that can make something out of nothing in the field. Barrett is a versatile player that can break off longs runs coming out of the backfield, or he can blow past your DBs as a receiver and catch one deep. Will is very athletic and incredibly tough. He won’t go down on first contact and will continue to fight for yards. Will is a smart receiver, using his twitchiness and his rapport with the Southeast quarterbacks to help move the chains. It is also worth mentioning that Will is also a threat in the return game. Barrett is a player that has flown under the radar with all the star power around him. However, he still has managed to make a name for himself on the recruiting trail. He has garnered interest from schools like Kentucky, South Dakota-Mines, Mary, Augustana, etc., and will make a great addition to any roster.
Trevor McDonald (OLB) | 2022 | Elkhorn South | 6’ 185 lbs
Season stats: 14 tackles, 12 solo, 2 assists, one interception
Trevor is a player that flew under my radar, and WOW! The first impression of McDonald’s game is his athleticism and pass coverage skills. As an outside linebacker, he does a great job flying around the field and affecting the game in any way possible. McDonald is not just able to stay in the hip pocket of receivers/tight ends but also athletic enough to make up ground and tackle backs catching from the backfield. He is very physical in coverage and doesn’t mind scraping with bigger offensive players. McDonald’s impact goes beyond what the stat sheet reads, as he can get in the quarterback’s face, disrupt the timing of pass-catchers, and can set the edge on run plays so that his buddies can swoop in to finish the job. Trevor is another player starting to get his name out there but will definitely be a hot commodity when more schools watch his tape.
Tyler Pickworth (ATH) | 2022 | Mead | 5’9″ 150 lbs
Season stats: Offense – 51 receptions, 894 yards, 15 touchdowns.
Defense – 33 tackles, 22 solo, 11 assists, 5 interceptions
Pickworth is a super underrated prospect in the 2022 class. He has only recently started to gain some traction on the recruiting trail, but I think he will be signed sooner rather than later. Tyler is a tremendous athlete that can stun defenders with his lightning-quick feet and good route running. He has a route; 2-3 steps in like a quick in/shallow route, then flips his hips towards the endzone, leaving the DB out of position, killing em this season. Tyler put up great receiving numbers, especially his 15 receiving touchdowns, showing he has a nose for the endzone. Although some teams may be turned away by his smaller size, a lot will stay for the fight and tenacity shown by Pickworth. His film shows a tough player and doesn’t back down in any situation or to anyone. Pickworth also showed his ball skills on the defensive side with 5 interceptions.
Micah Moore Micah Moore 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB Fremont High | 2022 State NE (RB/DB) | 2022 | Fremont | 6’1″ 185 lbs
Season stats: Offense – 177 carries, 1070 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 15 receptions, 89 yards, 4 receiving touchdowns. Defense – 6 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovered.
Offers/Interests: Wayne State (O), South Dakota-Mines (O), Nebraska, Southern Illinois, North Dakota
At this point, I consider Micah Mr. Consistent since he is consistently putting in work and getting the results to show for it. Moore capped off his second consecutive 1,000 yard season, improving last year’s totals in every category. Micah is so explosive and showed a little more anger in his runs this year. He seemed to play tougher and kept fighting after contact (yard per carry jumped from 4.8 to 6.0), possibly a chip on his shoulder. Even with this new edge, his bread and butter are to cut and let his twitchiness break down defenders. Micah is also underrated as a pass-catcher, and some additional receiving targets could pay huge dividends. Moore is drawing attention in-state and surrounding areas. Wayne State and South Dakota-Mines have offered him, with several schools inquiring about the Tiger prospect.

Dakota Coon Dakota Coon 6'2" | 265 lbs | DL Fremont | 2024 State NE (DL/OL) | 2024 | Fremont 6’1″ 245 lbs
Season stats: Offense – N/A. Defense – 13 tackles, 6 solo, 7 assists, one tackle for loss.
Dakota is looking like a promising bookend tackle on offense and a game-wrecking lineman on defense. He is very athletic and quick-footed for someone his size. This helps when attacking the edge and rushing after quarterbacks. Although the stats won’t say it, he was constantly applying pressure and drawing attention away from other defenders. Coon’s strength is very overwhelming when blocking. He can overpower defenders and drive them into the dirt. Again, his athleticism and quickness help get him into the second level, creating huge lanes for stud RB Micah Moore Micah Moore 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB Fremont High | 2022 State NE . Schools are starting to catch on to the talent developing in Fremont, and Dakota is undoubtedly one of the most promising.
