All of the games that I covered in my 1st article for playoffs I’ll be discussing the winners and losers from those games. I’ll also be discussing who the winners will be playing for week two. Here are the standout games from Houston high school football playoffs week one.
Spring Lions (10-1) vs Woodlands Highlanders (8-3)
This playoff game was being hosted by The Woodlands Highlanders on Friday November 12th, 2021. This was a very competitive football game. Both Spring and Woodlands were playing their hearts out and Woodlands was leading at the half with a score of 21-17. However, after the half The Spring Lions scored three touchdowns during the 3rd quarter which gave them the momentum for the rest of the game. The final score was 52-35 with the Spring Lions coming out victorious. Spring Lions standout player was wide receiver #3 Cadyn Bradley Cadyn Bradley 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Spring | 2022 State TX . Cadyn was moving all over the field he ended the night with 6 receptions, 216 receiving yards and three reception touchdowns. The Spring Lions will be traveling on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Klein Cain Hurricanes (9-2). The Spring Lions have themselves another tough game statistically The Lions have a bit of an advantage against The Hurricanes, but it could go either way Friday night.
Ridge Point Panthers (10-1) vs Seven Lakes Trojans (7-4)
This playoff game is being hosted by Ridge Point Panthers on Thursday November 11th, 2021. This game started out to go either way, but after the 1st quarter Ridge Point Panthers were steadily scoring while they kept The Seven Lakes Trojans to one touchdown the entire game. The final score was 35-7 with The Ridge Point Panthers moving on. The Ridge Point Panthers standout player was quarterback #3 Bert Emanuel, Jr. Bert is a great quarterback he can pass the ball as well as he can run it. Bert threw for four touchdowns and rushed in one himself. Ridge Point Panthers will be hosting on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Cy-Fair Bobcats (7-3). Cy-Fair had a great game against The Lamar Texans last Friday, but I think overall The Ridge Point Panthers are a better team than the Bobcats.
Lamar Texans (8-3) vs Cy-Fair Bobcats (7-3)
This playoff game is being hosted by The Lamar Texans on Friday November 12th, 2021. This was a great game 1st Lamar had the momentum then Cy-Fair had momentum it kept on going back and forth. Both teams had great defenses, but the key to victory was Cy-Fair’s kicker #28 Danny Bahena. Danny kick a total of three field goals which put Cy-Fair ahead of Lamar with a final score 16-14. Cy-Fair will be traveling on November 19th, 2021 to play against The Ridge Point Panthers (10-1). Cy-Fair had a great game against The Lamar Texans, but I think overall The Ridge Point Panthers are a better team than the Bobcats.
C.E King Panthers (9-2) vs South Houston Trojans (4-7)
This playoff game is being hosted by The C.E King Panthers on Friday November 12th, 2021. The C.E King Panthers didn’t waste any time by the end of the 1st quarter they scored four touchdowns. Then doubled their own score by the end of the game with a final score of 56-13 with The Panthers continuing on. The C.E King Panthers will be traveling on Friday November 19th, 2021 to play against The Shadow Creek Sharks (9-2). Both teams are great and have the exact same record I’m interested to see who’ll come out on top between these two teams.
Tompkins Falcons (10-1) vs Fort Bend Travis Tigers (6-5)
This playoff game is being hosted by The Tompkins Falcons on Thursday November 11th, 2021. The game was very close at 1st with both teams being neck and neck before the half. The Travis Tigers were fighting hard, but The Tompkins Falcons came out on top with a final score of 49-21. The Tompkins Falcons standout player was running back #10 Wyatt Young. Wyatt is only a sophomore and making a name for himself he ended the night with 9 carries, 97 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. The Tompkins Falcons will be traveling on November 19th, 2021 to play against The Jersey Village Falcons (11-0). It’ll be a battle between Falcons. Both teams have great records and stats with Jersey Village being undefeated all season long. However, Jersey Village hasn’t played a team as good as Tompkins yet. This should be a great competitive game Friday night I’m looking forward to seeing who’ll win this battle between Falcons.
