Their recruitment has yet to explode, but I expect that change shortly following the season based on their film and production. Without further adieu, here are Georgia’s top wideouts without an FBS offer.
Frantzyr Chardavoine Frantzyr Chardavoine 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Paulding County | 2023 GA , 6’, 170, Paulding County
A technician out of the slot, with plenty of build-up speed and great deep ball tracking. He’s a major threat on the mills passing concept and will stem his post towards cornerbacks before breaking towards the middle. He can challenge safeties over the top and will outrun angles after the catch. As a return man, he’s extremely slippery with outstanding burst once he finds a crease.
Cam’ron Lacy, 5’10”, 150, Stephens County
An explosive prospect with electrifying speed in space. Lacy can add value at multiple positions and has the capability of creating chunk plays in both the run and passing game. He can stop on a dime at the top of his route and is a major threat in the quick game if not brought down immediately. He reminds me a bit of Tavon Austin with his size and pure quickness once he touches the football.
Darius Cannon, 5’9″, 160, White County
An athletic wide receiver with great vision and excellent hands in traffic. Despite his size, Cannon has terrific leaping ability and will attack the football at its highest point. He’s a gifted returner who’s taken both punts and kicks back to the house. On tape, he is a smooth route runner, that uses subtle hand jabs to create separation at the top of his route.
Jordan Thornton, 5’8″, 175, Chamblee
Thornton is a yards after the catch machine who can make defenders look silly in the open field. His acceleration and change of direction are just filthy as he looks to cut it back at any point. He does his best work in the short-intermediate passing game and has shown that he’s a major mismatch on linebackers in the slot. I was so impressed by his contact balance and ability to simply wipe defenders off of him.
Damare Franklin Damare Franklin 5'11" | 155 lbs | WR Veterans | 2023 State GA , 5’11″, 160, Veterans
A big play waiting to happen, and someone you want to get the ball to in his hands quickly. Franklin is strong through traffic and uses his route speed to lull cornerbacks to sleep. He can make catches in awkward body positions and shows no issues defeating press coverage. This young man plays fearless and is willing to put in the dirty work as a blocker as well.
Jaden Gibson Jaden Gibson 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Rabun County | 2023 State GA , 6’2″, 175, Rabun County
This young man has already accounted for 1,497 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns, a downright ridiculous stat line! He’s got some serious wiggle for a taller wideout and can make you look silly in 1 on 1 situations. He shows almost effortless cuts to go along with outstanding body control as a pass-catcher. He’s a consistent route runner on all three levels and can make a major impact in the screen game.
