This division has been interesting, as all 4 teams standing have largely cruised their way to this point. This week we have two very competitive battles to earn the right to play at Ford Field.
Ubly vs Beal City
This is a battle of two high-octane offenses. Ubly has averaged an astounding 47.3PPG in the playoffs, while Beal City has averaged 37PPG. Ubly has won their third-straight regional title and are 12-0 on the year, while Beal City looks to return to the state championship after they disappointed in 2020. These teams have not met in the regular season, though Ubly lost in the state championship last season, while Beal city has made the championship in 2012, 2013, and 2019 but they’ve fallen short each time. This goes to show that these are two very established programs in division 8 and both teams are within reach of a state championship.

Ottawa Lake Whiteford vs Hudson
Whiteford is the 2017 division 8 champion, while Hudson last won a state championship in 2010 in division 7. It’s been a long time coming for Hudson, and they’ve been carried by an incredibly strong defense only giving up 8 points this entire postseason. This is the complete opposite for Whiteford as they’re led by a high-octane offense scoring 44.6PPG. Somethings got to give here, and there’s no telling if offense or defense will prevail here. Considering how this past week played out, look for the elements to possibly play a role in this one.
