Antonio Gates Jr Antonio Gates Jr 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Fordson | 2022 State MI – Fordson – WR – 6’1″ 185 lbs
The son of the future Hall of Famer is a walking clinic in his own right. He’s going to Michigan State next year and could very well make an impact on day 1. He put up 129-yards and 2 TDs on the night as they got the win. However, it was Gates’s catch in Overtime in the back of the endzone to win the game that made the place go crazy. It was an amazing catch and probably the catch of the year to this point.
Cephus Harris III Cephus Harris III 5'8" | 195 lbs | RB Chippewa Valley | 2022 State MI – Chippewa Valley – RB – 5’8″ 195 lbs
Harris is an extremely dynamic back who is able to make every play for an offense. Friday was no different and he was the biggest X-factor of the night. He put up 210 rushing yards and 2 TDs on then night. The best part, he didn’t play in the 2nd half. He had them up so much so fast that they didn’t need to play him. He’ll look to continue his hot stretch next week.
Jordan Kwiatkowski Jordan Kwiatkowski 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB Adlai Stevenson | 2022 State MI – Aldai Stevenson – RB/LB – 6’1″ 220 lbs
Kwiatkowski doesn’t get to carry the ball very often but when he does he makes it count. He carried the ball 5 times on Friday and had 100-yards and 3 TDs. He didn’t waste his opportunities to shine on offense. You may know him as the star LB who is going to Central Michigan but he’s a baller on the offensive side as well. He sat out the second half because he didn’t need to be on the field with the lead they had.
Darius Taylor Darius Taylor 5'8" | 150 lbs | RB Walled Lake Western | 2023 State MI – Walled Lake Western – RB/WR – 5’11″ 180 lbs
Taylor is a great athlete with the ball in his hands. He’s bound to make a big play here and there every Friday. They used him heavily at RB on Friday and he didn’t disappoint. He carried the ball 26 times and put up just under 300 rushing yards and 4 TDs. Taylor has a handful of offers from schools like Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Ferris State, and Youngstown State. A few more performances like that and he’s going to have more schools come knocking on his door.
Sal Vackaro – Oxford – RB – 5’9″ 150 lbs
We saved the best for last because Vackaro’s performance was so good the local newspaper called him a ’local legend.’ He earned it too. He came out on Friday and put it to Clarkston all night. The 8-1 Clarkston team came in with every reason to believe they were going to beat Oxford. Vackaro decided that wasn’t happening as he put up 350 total yards and 4 TDs as they got the surprising win 38-28.
