Zane Flores Zane Flores 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Gretna | 2023 State NE | Gretna | QB | 6’3″ 190lbs | Class of 2023
I have said in a past article that I believe Zane is the best prospect at QB in the state, Tuesday did nothing but add to my opinion. Zane has an amazing pocket presence and can drop dimes anywhere on the field. He was 28/42 for 320 yards passing. He also led the team in rushing with 22 yards. Zane won Player of the Year from Max Preps ending with over 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns through the air. Kansas St, Iowa St, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Nebraska have all shown interest and the list will keep growing!

Joe Roll Joe Roll 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Gretna | 2023 State NE | Gretna | WR/CB| 5’10″ 175lbs | Class of 2023
Joe had a game that you dream about as a child. He has performed his best on the biggest stage. Joe had 11 catches for 207 yards and was the MVP of the game. He had huge catches to get them in Westside territory multiple times and gave their defensive backfield fits all night. He has solid speed and has knack for getting open. North Dakota St, South Dakota St and South Dakota have noticed Joe early but another year with Zane and some power schools could come knocking!

Connor Edwards Connor Edwards 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Gretna | 2022 State NE | Gretna | CB/WR | 5’10″ 170lbs | Class of 2022
Connor wreaked havoc on the offensive backfield of Westside all night. Some may not have seen him but he was constantly in the backfield making tackles or putting pressure on Anthony Rezac, including the game winning play, and I found myself watching for him on every defensive snap for Gretna. He does a great job blitzing off the edge and is physical enough to take on the running backs for a solo tackle. Connor was my under the radar X Factor in this game. Connor is uncommitted at this point.
Tommy Connelly Tommy Connelly 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB Westside | 2022 State NE | Westside | LB/RB | 6’1″ 195lbs | Class of 2022
Tommy was flying around the field making plays for the Warriors. He had double digit tackles, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery. He did an amazing job reading plays and exploding to the ball then wrapping up. He plays like a natural in that linebacker position and has the strength to back it up. I am a little surprised for there to not be interest for Tommy yet, he is a leader on that defense and plays with passion. Tommy could be a steal for some college.

Anthony Rezac | Westside | QB/DB | 6’3″ 180lbs | Class of 2024
Now Anthony did not play amazing but considering he is only a sophomore and the stage, I thought he did a very good job. He was 17/32 for 225 yards passing. He made some tough throws and drove them down the field to put them in a winning position. He showed a lot of poise and it will pay huge dividends his next couple years. He has good size and great legs that he did not use often enough in this Gretna game. Anthony should start seeing a lot of interest next year.

Bonus:
Tristan Alvano | Westside | K | 6’2″ 180lbs | Class of 2023
Tristan has a big leg and a ton of confidence to use it. He did miss one in the championship but came back and made another shortly after. He almost takes your return game out of the picture with touchbacks. In the semifinals, I saw him make a 49 yard field foal in sub freezing temperatures. Tristan is apart of some great kicking talent in the state over the next couple of years. No offers yet for Tristan but Nebraskans got a glimpse of how important kicking can be this year, so I expect them to be coming soon!
