Caden Williams (RB)- Calhoun
Flying under the radar last week was Caden Williams, who had a big time performance for his team. In Calhoun’s win, Williams toting the rock 22 times helped his team control the ball, and his 206 yards and 2 TD’s only added to his team’s success, as well as the final score that read 35-14.
Sydyk Ross (LB)- Chamblee
On the defensive side of the ball, Ross shined for his team last week. In his team’s win, he helped his defense make some big time stops, as he had 11 total tackles, with 4 of them being for a loss. Along with this, he also forced a fumble, which only helped to continue to build positive momentum for his team.
DJ Bell (RB)- Pierce County
Just like Williams, Bell also toted the rock 22 times. In these 22 carries, Bell’s underrated performance, which is largely overshadowed by the gaudy numbers of other RB’s in the state of Georgia, proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Not only did Long County’s defense struggle to stop him, but his 245 yards, and 2 TD’s helped to put some good points on the board for his team.
Khalil Barnes (DB/WR)- North Oconee
In his team’s blowout 42-7 win, Barnes, on both sides of the ball, can be seen to be one of the most underrated performances from this past week. On offense, he not only caught 8 passes, but he also totaled 104 yards and 2 TD’s. As he played on the defensive side of the ball, his influence only continued to build, as he racked up 7 tackles.
TJ Hartley (K)- Whitewater
In Whitewater’s 16-13 win over Starr’s Mill, the Kicker, TJ Hartley, can be seen as an unsung MVP. While football can be seen to be a team game, Hartley totaled 10 points for his team, and he made 3 field goals, which ultimately was the most points scored by one player on his team last week.
Jessie Washington (LB)- Georgia Military
During Washington and his team’s close win over Warren County this past week, they witnessed a final score of 17-6. In this game, Washington was a game changer for his defense, as he had 8 total tackles, with a few of them coming in big time, momentum gaining moments for his team. To add to this, he also had a scoop and score to add 6 points to his team’s final score.
Dalen Cobb Dalen Cobb 5'8" | 170 lbs | WR Washington-Wilkes | 2022 GA (QB)- Washington-Wilkes
Cobb, who can be viewed as a very underrated prospect due to the fact that he plays for Washington-Wilkes, completed 11 of his 13 passes during his team’s close win over Lincoln County. In this 44-36 win, Cobb had about 198 yards in the air, and also threw for 3 TD’s. In addition to this, due to his versatility on the field, he also carried the ball 21 times for 168 yards, and 3 TD’s. Needless to say, he accounted for 36 of his team’s points, and was more than a game changer. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how he can finish the year, and if performances such as this can help his recruitment to spike.
