A.C. Flora can win the Region 4-4A title with a victory. The Falcons are scary good on offense and equally impressive on defense. RB Markel Townsend Markel Townsend 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB AC Flora | 2023 State SC , QB Phillips Daniels and WRs Chris Lofton Chris Lofton 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR AC Flora | 2023 State SC and Adonis McDaniel Adonis McDaniel 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Ridge View | 2023 State SC have gotten better as the season has progressed. Other games to watch in the region are Irmo at Lugoff-Elgin and Richland Northeast at Westwood. If Irmo and Westwood both win it’s a three-way tie for first but the playoff seedings will be A.C. Flora, Westwood, Irmo. Dreher, Lugoff-Elgin and Richland Northeast are battling for the final playoff spot from the region.
Chapin (6-2, 2-1) at Lexington (6-2, 2-1)
A lot will be riding on this game – a second place finish and a home playoff game most importantly. The loser will have to travel to Carolina Forest for a first round game. QB Jayden Bradford Jayden Bradford 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Osceola | 2023 FL , RB Bennett Galloway Bennett Galloway 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Chapin | 2022 State SC and WR Zavier Short Zavier Short 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR Chapin | 2022 State SC have been spectacular for the Eagles. Lexington relies on a defense led by Blake Smith and Chris Frye that likes to create turnovers.
Newberry (4-4, 3-1) at Gray Collegiate (8-1, 4-0)
First place is on the line in Region 3-2A. If Newberry loses, they could fall all the way to the three seed. Kazarius Adams Kazarius Adams 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Gray Collegiate Academy | 2022 State SC , a finalist for Mr. Football is nearing 2,000 yards on the season for Gray Collegiate. The defense is led by Tory Kelly Tory Kelly 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Gray Collegiate | 2022 State SC . Newberry will counter RB KJ Robinson and WR Zack Chalmers Zack Chalmers 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR Newberry | 2022 State SC .
Orangeburg-Wilkinson (5-4, 3-1) at Brookland-Cayce (6-2, 3-1)
QB Tanner Staton Tanner Staton 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Brookland-Cayce | 2023 State SC and LB Owen Plane Owen Plane 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Brookland-Cayce | 2022 State SC hope to lead Brookland-Cayce to the region title. They wrap up the No. 1 seed with a win, but a loss could potentially drop them all the way to a No. 4 seed from the region.
Ridge View (3-4, 1-2) at Blythewood (3-5, 0-3)
A victory by Ridge View could secure the No. 3 seed in Region 4-5A. A loss could eliminate them altogether, but they likely would fall to the No. 4 seed. QB Andre Washington Andre Washington 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB Ridge View | 2022 State SC and WR Chase Smith Chase Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Ridge View | 2022 State SC hope to keep the momentum they got last week in a win over Rock Hill. A loss by Blythewood ends their season. LB Myles Cotton has the most tackles in school history. RB Desmond Boatwright will have to have a big night for the Bengals.
White Knoll (1-8, 0-3) at River Bluff (2-7. 0-3)
This one is simple – the winner advances to play Sumter in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs next week while the loser must turn in the pads. WR Apollos Cook Apollos Cook 6'2" | 205 lbs | WR Aiport | 2023 State SC and RB Cooper Johns are the key for the Gators. White Knoll has lost six in a row and must find enough offense to have hopes to continue to play.
