Continue ReadingThis was a great regular-season finale from the WPIAL 6A conference. This game was for third place in the conference and whoever won, got the bye next week for the playoffs. Here are some of the players who stood out.
Seneca Valley – Luke Lawson (JR) WR 6’3195 – Lawson was all over the field early in this game offensively and defensively. He made a big defensive stop on 4th down inside Seneca Valley’s 5-yard line mid-to-late 1st quarter. He also had a big 19-yard TD catch in double coverage to score the first points of the game. Lawson could be FCS/Low FBS player.
Seneca Valley – Sean O’Shea (SOPH) QB – O’Shea had a good game. He went 10-for-16 116 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception. O’Shea made some questionable decisions during the game, but nothing major to cost his team the game. O’Shea took over as a starter when their original starting QB got injured a few weeks back. O’Shea could develop into an FCS/D2 quarterback.
North Allegheny – Dwayne Taylor Dwayne Taylor 6'5" | 205 lbs | WR North Allegheny | 2022 State PA (SR) WR/TE 6’6 210 – Taylor had one of the better games I’ve seen from him this season. He had big catch early 1st quarter. Had a TD catch with 4:36 left in the first have to tie the game. Defensively he’s had quite a few tackles and recorded an INT late 3rd quarter.
Seneca Valley – Nolan Dworek Nolan Dworek 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Seneca Valley | 2022 State PA (SR) RB 5’10 185 – Dworek had a few big runs in this game. He is physical who is a hard runner. Dworek did have a couple of fumbles though, so he needs to be better in ball security. He had a 4-yard TD run with 6:38 left in game to take the lead 17-10. Dworek finished the night with 28 carries for 137 yards and 1 touchdown. Dworek could be a D2 running back.
North Allegheny – Khiryn Boyd (SOPH) WR 5’10 160 – Boyd is an interesting player. He was targeted a lot in this game. He was involved in the passing game as well as the run game with reverses. Boyd is not as electric with the ball in his hands but can make plays when you need him to. I see him being a D2/D3 player.
