THIS WEEK’S GEMS
Congratulations to New Port Richey Gulf for ending a 29-game losing streak in a 26-24 win over Anclote as A.J. Blanton ran for 188 yards and two scores.
Tocoi Creek won its first game in program history, taking down Providence, 21-12, at home. Kaiz Ragland caught a touchdown, Wendell Dean had a long TD run and Ryan Killmer added a score to give the Toros and head coach Mike Kolakowski the win.
Northwestern University commit Austin Firestone Austin Firestone 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Niceville | 2022 State FL , playing 100-plus snaps, delivered two sacks, five tackles for loss and a pass deflection as Niceville rolled to a 42-21 win against Crestview.
Fort Lauderdale Stranahan 2024 QB Rueben Toombs had over 300 yards and 2 scores in a win over Jensen Beach.
Brian Hooks, DB, Jacksonville Andrew Jackson came up with an interception, five tackles and a pass breakup and never gave up a completion on his side.
Tampa Sickles athlete David Pomales had 6 touchdowns, 5 receiving and 1 on a kickoff return in a win over Tampa Leto.
Junior LB Thomas Howard II from Citra North Marion had 17 tackles (5 solo), a tackle for loss and an interception on Friday night.
In Orlando Olympia’s 42-22 win over Celebration, Class of 2022 LB Kevin Sullivan (15 tackles, 7 solo, 2 TFL, 1 FF, 1 PBU and an onside kick recovery), Class of 2022 WR Victor Jones Victor Jones WR Orlando Olympia | 2022 FL Jr. (7 catches for 126 yards and 2 TDs) and Class of 2022 QB CJ Brooks CJ Brooks 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Olympia | 2022 FL (13/17/293/4 TDs for 260 yards and all 4 scores in the first half).
Quarterback Ryan Browne, Venice, was 11 of 19 for 211 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also carried three times for 38 yards in a fifth straight win.
Pompano Beach 2023 WR Lorenzo Beggs once again came up huge for the Tornadoes. The 6-2, 155-pounder is indeed a huge catalyst.
Class of 2025 freshman QB Austin Simmons completed 14 passes for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns in Pahokee’s win.
Jupiter Christian 2022 WR/DB Brian LaFrance Brian LaFrance WR Jupiter Christian | 2022 FL continues to make a major impact each week on both sides of the ball.
JoeJoe Patti, QB, Orlando West Oaks was 18 of 24 for 412 yards and 5 touchdowns in a win.
Trey Rainey Trey Rainey 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Boca Raton | 2022 FL , 2022 RB, Boca Raton had 173 yards and 2 scores in a huge district win. He also happens to hold down a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.
Senior RB Kade Frew Kade Frew RB Jacksonville Bolles | 2022 FL helped Jacksonville Bolles stay unbeaten with 200 more yards in a win over Trinity Christian.
St. Petersburg High 2023 QB Evan Jacobson Evan Jacobson 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Northeast | 2023 FL accounted for over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is also a 3.5 student in the classroom.
Gavin Peacock, Class of 2023 DE, Lake Worth Park Vista had 8 tackles, 4 tackles for loss. 1 sack and 6 QB pressures in a huge win.
Harmony kicker Kevin LaVigne has been one of the top kickers this year in Florida. His 47-yard field goal was the fourth of 40-plus this season.
Chaminade-Madonna sophomore RB Davion Gause continues to impress and lead the Lions – with well over 100 yards in a huge win over defending 8A state champion Sanford Seminole.
Oviedo WR Alex Saunders caught 9 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs against Flagler Palm Coast.
Miami Ransom Everglades QB Nick Rubino was at it again this week – with 180 yards and 3 touchdowns passing. Putting him over 1,000 yards on the season for his 5-0 team.
Fort Myers Dunbar QB Daveon Palmer Daveon Palmer QB Fort Myers Dunbar | 2022 FL had another solid night in a win over Fort Myers – throwing for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dunbar remained unbeaten.
Miami Gulliver Prep 2024 LB Dylan Calero has been one of the best in Florida this year. Against two-time defending 2A state champion Champagnat Catholic, he had 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss. 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
Garth Lewis, WR, Coral Springs had a huge game in a win over Coconut Creek North Broward Prep. The senior caught 7 balls for 244 yards and 2 scores.
